Our cruise ship stopped in Puntarenas and we headed to Vista Lost Suenos Canopy Tours. We were travelling with 2 20 year olds, 2 in our 50's and one 82 year old, this trip was not offered by the cruise ship! We called in advance and made separate arrangements to be picked up by our wonderful driver who took us to see and feed the monkeys. Esteban, our driver, was informative about the area answered our many questions and pointed out various sights along the way to the zip trekking adventure at Vista Los Suenos.
We couldn't have had a better time, everyone was friendly well trained and assuring, especially since i have a fear of heights! This was the highlight for all of us, including my 82 year old father who was beaming from ear to ear. We were driven up the mountain by tractor to the departure platform, given good clear instructions on what to expect and do and then we were off. There was another group with us and they were having as much fun as we were, I think we were louder than the wildlife! Once of the group was lucky enough to catch a toucan on film, we spotted several of them as well as other birds and butterflies. Half way down the mountain, we were able to rest and have some water and chat with everyone in our group about the adventure so far. I don't think there was a dissapointed soul in the bunch. The great thing was being able to get some photo memories of each of us done expertly by the photo crew along the way. When we reached the bottom and were back at the reception area they had lovely fresh local fruit and water waiting for us, what a great surprise and treat.
After our zip trekking adventure we had lunch in Jaco not far from the zip trek area and had a tour of the beach and town. What a lovely littley spot. We are definately coming back for a longer stay! Then back to our ship with a stop at the crocodile bridge.
The best part was that we were able to choose what we did and had an amazing tour guide, Esteban, you were wonderful. Thanks! Billy and the staff at Vista \los Suenos Canopy Tours, the zip trekking was really wondeful, as was your staff, the facilities were very clean and well maintained as was all the equipment;.we all wanted to do it again right away!
PS when we got back to the ship, we talked to some other folks who had done another tour and they were sorry they hadn't taken up our offer to come along with us.
