Our 3 night stay was wonderful, the nature sounds of sunrise and sunset we’re completely incredible. If not for the lovely cabana styled lodge rooms, pool, and terraced openair dinner space - from the sounds one would believe they’re alone camping in the middle of a jungle rain forest. - what a great way to share your day w/ mother-nature.
The breakfasts are very nice and the staff really welcomes you and makes the stay a true pleasure.
It’s close to everything and far enough away to not have any traffic, dust, smells or sounds. Totally a win!

This hotel is the perfect spot if you are looking for silence and peace. Olman is kind and very helpful. Breakfast is basic but nice and enough to start the day. I would recommend to clean the pool because the water was cloudy and turbid. We didnt get in at all during our 4 night stay.

We really enjoyed our three nights at this small hotel in the hills above Montezuma. The beds had the best mattresses of any spot we stayed in during our two week visit to Costa Rica. The tiny pool was very refreshing and each room’s hot water showers were terrific. Howler monkeys threw water apple fruit down on us, the owner couldn’t have been more helpful, and the place is a shot drive over a Ford in the river to the best restaurant in the area— Tierra y Fuego. Only disappointment is that they only serve breakfast at Los Caballos now.

This place is OK, not great. Hardly a nature lodge. It was noisy from fellow guests and music in public space. It was difficult to find upon arrival after dark. Parking is located at bottom of hill with dark, uneven walkway to rooms. There was no offer of assistance when hauling in luggage after dark. Pool was refreshing, breakfasts were nice, room fans kept us cool enough. Terrace furnishings were lacking. It was a rough drive into Montezuma. Room itself was OK, but bathroom was weird. Everything’s is just a little rough around the edges. I would not return.

The grounds are lovely and the beds were very comfortable, but the sitting area just outside our room was quite uncomfortable. The room was usually peaceful except when the staff began clearing the garden early in the morning. The internet worked only when close to the door of our room. The pool was very small and not very clean during most of our stay. We only had breakfast in the restaurant and it was OK but all cold food apart from the eggs. It's quite a long way to the nearest town, you need a car to get around here, but it's a great area.
