Most of our recent trip to Costa Rica was spend on the west coast but we spent the last night at Grano de Oro before our flight out the following day. This was certainly the nicest hotel we stayed at during the week. They upgraded our room as a courtesy. The unique nature of the various rooms was very appealing. We found that we could quickly walk to the central market before dinner and it was a perfect evening.
Pros: A+ service and staff attentiveness, very nice unique rooms from a bygone era, Excellent value, parking available, one of the best restaurants in San Jose is on premises, very walkable to much in San Jose, easy to get to airport.
Cons: Restaurant is expensive, though worth it. City traffic around hotel is dense at rush hour. Hot tub facilities were off line when we were there.
We will stay there again.More
