When you arrive outside you just see a green door, but what lurks behind is fabulous, the rooms are really lovely, spacious, clean with a fantastic hot shower, safe is included in the price, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel has lovely décor its like a little oasis in the middle of the city and there is a sun roof on the 3rd floor.
My only little grumble is the breakfast you get a bowl of French stick, some fruit juice, coffee, jam and then there is some fruit on a separate table, if you want anything else you have to pay extra you have been warned!

We currently serve fresh baked baguette, coffee or tea, butter and preserves, along with a variety of locally grown fruits. Most people find this both filling and satisfying. All these are included in our room price.
In addition, we offer a fine selection of other breakfast options at very reasonable prices.
We offer one of the best accommodation values in San Jose. To include full breakfast we would need to raise our prices.

It´s a nice and small hotel in the center of San Jose, not fare away from the city center. Walking distance ca. 10min. Nice and clean rooms. The only problem is the train which comes during the day, but at night they are not driving. Cheap and well organized.

Being in the downtown area there are big city noises you cannot escape, but we do our best to work with them. We offer sleep machines (a.k.a. ambient noise machines) at our front desk for anyone who is a light sleeper.
We loved our stay at Casa 69. The staff were very friendly, the rooms clean, and the area it's located in was awesome! Close to downtown San jose, full of culture and beautiful street art.
Affordable, and the staff go out of their way to make you feel at home. The breakfast was delicious (included fresh fruit and coffee).The driver, Giovanni, is amazing. Very friendly and only charges $25 for a ride to the airport -- what would be at least a $40 cab ride with anyone else.
We'll be staying here again for sure!

I stay in this hotel every time I go to Costa Rica – often several times a year. It is my second home as I sometimes travel solo but never feel alone. The rooms are well decorated and clean and the ambience of the hotel, especially the main house is very welcoming and warm. You can’t complain about the rates when you are basically in the centre of San Jose and have access to all the tourist attractions and the artisan market. The continental breakfast is great and included in the room rate but if you want something more substantial there is an a la carte menu. It is easy to meet people from all over the world in the common area of the hotel if you are interested. The hotel is divided into two sections, separated by the street. If you prefer a quieter stay I would recommend that you stay across the street. There is noise from a train that does go by early in the morning but it is not something that the hotel can do anything about - you are in the middle of a large city and I am sure other hotels in the area have the same issue. There can be noise from neighbouring bars on the weekends but would occur anywhere you would stay in the centre of a city. The main reason I go back time and time again is the staff. They are friendly, helpful and informative and help create the ambience that is so welcoming.
