My issue with Costa Rican food is the lack of spicy...that being said I really enjoyed eating the local 'comida tipica' at the Burro Loco ("Crazy Donkey"). A cafeteria-type setup, the food is hot and ready to serve. The roasted chicken is delicious and their guacamole excellent! Fairly expensive compared to the many 'Soda' style eateries but the food quality was worth the difference. About ₡4500 for one. Located in the heart of the Central Market district I found it to be a very enjoyable oasis - a bit away from the madding crowd.
