We rented a car and drove to the top. For the effort required this view was amazing. Not sure how long this take to walk up.

My husband and I took a motor scooter ride up to Belvedere, considered the magic mountain by locals. The ride itself was incredibly enjoyable as you are surrounded at the lower area by pineapple plantations. As you wind your way up the mountain there are archeological sites, and at the top you look back down to the ocean through the two bays.... Cooks bay to the right and Pao pao bay to the left. The waters are a stunning turquoise blue, and sparkle like diamonds.

While we were there we met a local “chieftain” giving a blessing. He was quintessentially Tahitian, and you can imagine what it would have been like when the first voyagers arrived on Moorea.
