I went on a cross island trek with Pa and had a great time. He is quite the character so take time to chat with him. Keep in mind this is not the trek for you if you're a bit out of shape. There is a very steep climb to the top.We had a couple on our walk that held everyone up which meant an extra hour added to our trip, but they were not left behind. The views from the top are awesome. The bush and streams reminded me of home. There was a welcome cool off at Papua waterfall at the end and a big sandwich and fresh fruit.

We were pleased we did the trek over the Island with Bruce from Pa's Treks as he was very knowledgeable and patient with everyone. It would be easy to get lost doing it on your own. Thank you Bruce

We did the nature walk with Pa. It was not strenious but very interesting. We learned a lot about natural medicine at his "palace" (his house) first. Pa says he is a Guru and a nature lover. Sure he does not eat meat. First we thought: what is this for a walk?, cause we stayed a long time in his garden tasting his medicine like the kava drink. But at least we walked a bit up to the forest. Back with the bus, we had some fruits and sandwiches together. Well, if you really want to do a hike, this is not your tour - take the Cross Island Hike. If you are interested in using plants for natural medicine, this is your tour. Pa is a very interesting and unique person, one of a kind!

The actual hike was really good, we did the cross island walk which was led by Bruce - Pa's nephew, he was fantastic. Lunch was delicious! However, the business side of this operation and Pa came across as unprofessional. Driver didn't show up, people who needed a ride back to their resort were made to walk to the road as their wasn't enough seats in vans. Pa held us up returning to our resort, seemed star struck by the Eels player in our group, who got special and attention over everyone else.
