The hotel is not flash but the rooms are spacious and quiet with a good shower and comfortable bed.
Unfortunately we felt the staff were under the pump and did not have enough owner/manager support, they were all very friendly and willing to help but lacked the training and direction they needed to do their job properly

Room tip: Ask for a front room overlooking the water

We did a cruise with UnCruise which is a smaller ship (80) and this hotel was within walking distance of the loading ramp. Hotel is a vintage one with their own restaurant, large rooms, an underground parking garage and laundry facility in the basement. Wonderful food and our waitress Tammie was great. She had lots of local information that helped us navigate the city such as a museum that was just behind us, where to book other venues and where to rent a car when we got back from our cruise.

We had a large room, with *2* luggage closets. While the hotel is a little tired and the multi-tasking receptionist/manager a little stretched at times, we had a good stay and would book again. The TK Maguire restaurant is attached and did a magnificent fish buffet.

A little worn but beautiful views, quiet. The staff was very helpful and hard-working. Altogether a very good buy for a hotel in town. It is walking distance to most activities and shops. Carpeting was new but some furniture was old.

"The Prospector" is the Mother Lode in Juneau - great location adjacent to the fabulous State Museum, a short stroll to downtown and lovely views of the waterfront. The staff (shout out for Robert in the Restaurant and Chris in Reception) are knowledgeable, affable and attentive. At twice the price, this would still be a bargain! The rooms are bright, clean, spacious with all the amenities.

Room tip: Rooms on upper floors facing the water are primo quality and the gulls wake you every morning!
