Booked this hotel on line not knowing what it would be like. Well I was very happy with my decision. The room was clean with enough room to get around even though it was not a handicap accessible. The waterfront view was another great value for the money.

Room Tip: Ask the hotel manager and she can help you she is extremely helpful.

I have been to motel 8’s that were cleaner and had more room than this place.
Apparently its a seasonal weekly /monthly rental place during the summer and a ‘hotel’ in the winter. No jokes, two orison cells side by side would be bigger than the rooms! A ‘fridge’ is a mini, movie mini just large enough for a six pack of beer or soda.

Dear Bikepaddlewalk,
I am so sorry you didn't like our rooms. We do not rent weekly or monthly at any time of the year. We do have companies that house some of their seasonal staff for extended stays but they are also nightly. Sorry for the confusion.

We continually recieve the highest of marks for cleanliness in our rooms. Did you report the problem to the front desk? We would have had housekeeping immediately fix the problem.

We do have the hotel size mini-frig's in the room. I apologize this didn't meet your needs.

Thank you. Hope you stay again.

This place has had mixed reviews in the past but we had a great stay. We arrived early on the ferry and were charged $25 to check in early. We were given a great, large room on the water and so enjoyed watching the traffic as well as the immature eagles hanging out. Bed was very comfortable, room was great. It's true the water is a funny color, but we did not experience any harm from that and understand it is their well water which is fine. The staff were very helpful to us as we did not have a car and were dependent on their shuttle and the city bus. Both worked out great! The shuttle met us at the ferry and also took us back early in the morning. The staff helped us to understand how everything was set up in the city and made good recommendations for where to visit and where to eat. The breakfast was nothing special, typical Choice breakfast but the yogurt was great and there was plenty for our day. Thanks folks for caring for us!

Room Tip: we had the honeymoon suite, so we did not experience the normal rooms. Ask for a water view.

Dear Sustrav,
Thank you for reviewing your stay with us. We are so glad that we provided the service that our guest's deserve. The waterfront rooms are great. A clear view of the channel between islands, our docks, the fishing boats coming in and out, and of course the young eagles. You mentioned the breakfast. We are actually in transition. We are offering a continental breakfast while renovations are made to the restaurant. We hope to open this spring with a whole new concept. Hope you can stop by and try us then.
Thank you again. We hope you visit us again soon.

Spent the night at the Edgewater while on a layover between flights to a fishing lodge. Ketchikan airport is across the channel and therefore a ferry boat ride ( $6 pp each way0 is required to get from the airport to town. Hotel picked us up at the ferry terminus shortly after we called them. No charge for the shuttle. Our room overlooked the channel but was quite small. However, it was very clean and very comfortable. I would definitely stay there next time I was in Ketchikan.

Room was small but adequate. No air-conditioning but with the rain that was not a big problem except the room would become very stuffy during the night. They did provide a box fan but there was no window to open. Restaurant was only available for a buffet breakfast.
