Hard to find as it is located inside the Valley Hotel, the staff was poor at giving directions a simple statement as to being located in a hotel would have life much easier. The Halibut, was breaded deep fried fish of some sort, cannot swear to it being halibut.

Eat here whenever we are in town seeing family. Huge portions. This place is understated and low key. You definitely do not expect the great value and service you get her.

We had several breakfasts there and can vouch for the best hash browns ever! The meals are plentiful and there is something for everyone on their menu. Marina, our waitress on two occasions, was very friendly and efficient, and seemed to truly care that we enjoyed our meals.

We are here last night, our first night in Alaksa and Palmer. We ate in the Valley Inn cafe not in the Caboose Lounge but they both have the same menu.

I had the small halibut bites with garden vegetable soup. Both were delicious. Everyone else t our table enjoyed there food.

Everyone a the cafe was very friendly. Our waitress was fantastic and gave us a lot of information about the area. Service was prompt and friendly. They have a huge menu and it might take you a while to figure out what you want to eat.

We had the strawberry-rhubarb home made pie with local fireweed vanilla ice cream. It was very good.
I would recommend eating here, the prices were very fair for Alaska and it is definitely a local place to eat.
