I stop at Fine Thyme for lunch when driving between Homer and Anchorage and vice versa. This restaurant consistently delivers good food. There's several things I like: they make their broths for their soups from scratch - they don't use bullion or packaged broth. They make their salad dressings from scratch. The chipotle ranch is excellent. They make a fine Reuben. Soups are consistently good. Their Russian Creme dessert is pretty delectable and gluten-free. They bake their own bread, and when I was there yesterday morning, the smell of fresh-baked bread was heavenly. They have a kitchen garden out back. If you are a regular, you are greeted like a friend.
My husband, who likes a plate piled high, might find their portion sizes a bit on the smaller side, but I like that because I don't overeat.
I'll keep coming back while the food and service remains this good.
