Absolutely beautiful place and top quality with attention to detail in all aspects: The interior, the food, the spa, the yoga, the service. The staff is very professional and friendly. Loved the tranquillity and being surrounded by the permaculture garden. We highly recommend the place.

I recently stayed here for a 3 night yoga retreat and to sum up.... it was beautiful! It has a bit of rustic, natural, colourful, peaceful vibe, away from the busy streets. The food was excellent, not only was it healthy and fresh but delicious. All the staff were very friendly and polite. And the yoga?? Well it was wonderful, the instructors were lovely and helped guide you when needed, which I really appreciated being a beginner. I particularly loved doing a class at sunset, quite a magical experience. I hope to go back again one day.

Hello Melina, thank you! as a recreated village, campung we say in Indonesia, the rustic charm is part of the beauty. Once you are in your house, all the services and amenities are present. A surprise. It is amazing to travel and to be exposed to different ways of life, cultures, art, foods and religions. We aim to combine all for an unforgettable experience. We look forward to your next visit! Matur Suksma!

I recently stayed at Desa Seni with my partner and sister for week. I loved everything about the experience, from the location in Canggu (a push bike ride to the shops, or a short taxi ride to Seminyak and some funky local hangouts), to the fantastic food (both at the resort and within walking distance), to the gorgeous Majapahit house we occupied, the friendly and helpful staff, the village pets, the excellent yoga program and the relaxing spa treatments. I would love to be able to make this an annual pilgrimage - it was just what my heart, soul and body needed. Special thanks to Kariani (I hope I have spelt that right) at reception who made us feel so welcome and to everyone one else who made our stay so fabulous.

Room tip: All houses would be beautiful - we stayed in Majapahit.

Hello Jude! What a wonderful stay it was! When you have a village working together and supporting all the efforts, this is what you get. Great guests who get to experience and participate first hand in all the varied offerings that we provide. If it is yoga, the organic restaurant, the yoga, the shop, the slat water pool, the new friends to be made, you name it, and everything else that may just come about. Every day is a new day with explorations to be had. It is amazing what a vacation to a new land can bring to mental, physical and spiritual rejuvenation! Matur suksma!

We stayed at Desa Seni for 3 nights.
Overall it was amazing!

My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our comfortable 1 bedroom cabin.
It was traditional, wood and had a rustic charm. With the comfort of powerful AC and huge King sized bed.

Staff were first class - super friendly, professional, remember your name, favorite drinks and food.

Food is super healthy, organic and much of it grown onsite.
Pool feels unbelievable to swim in, it is salt water, is kind to your eyes and makes your skin feel awesome.

We also had a 90min massage treatment which was very relaxing, and did some Yoga classes in the Yoga Centre which left us feeling energized.

As for location, it's like being in relaxing Ubud yet close to everything, including Canggu and Seminyak.
The grounds are stunning! Endless flowering plants and tropical trees. Our cabin had its own garden with views of both the pool and neighboring rice paddies.
There are lots of staff who take care of the land so everything is very well kept.

The only average parts to our stay was finding the cabin door lock a bit tricky to unlock - it's a traditional wood lock and key which takes some skill to open.
Also our bed was pretty firm so we woke with stiff bodies.

Overall we would love to come back for another stay
and will recommend Desa Seni to our friends!

Selamat Pagi Mike! No better way than to come to work and find your writings! Thank you! It takes a village to run a village and the joy of all in coming to place where there is mutual admiration, well, who would not want to come to work! 3 nights, like the Balinese believe, it is all in threes, like our logo, Creativity, preservation and destruction. We look forward to your return, all services open to the community! Matur suksma!

I had problems with flight delays so it was very late by the time I arrived at Desa Seni. The next morning I found I’d woken up in a quirky paradise.

I enjoyed the yoga classes, food and reading by the large saltwater pool. I also had a very good massage at the spa. For animal lovers there are a couple of lovely pooches that live in the resort and a friendly young cat that will come and sit with you by the pool.

On my second night there were some staffing problems that led to the restaurant being closed at short notice. There’s a few eating options nearby but as others have noted the road can be daunting to walk along especially at night. I ended up taking a short cab ride to a restaurant I know in the area.

I also mentioned on check-out that the bed in my room was too hard for my tastes. It felt more like a futon. But I’ve seen other people in reviews say the same bed was very comfortable, so obviously this is a personal taste thing. If it’s a factor for you then ask about a room with a softer bed.

In summary the unique accommodation, gardens and quiet location will not be for everyone but if you enjoy a natural, laid back environment or need to fully decompress for a few days then Desa Seni is the place to go. I’m already checking my calendar for when I can return.
