I would rate 5+. The room was well newly refurnished and well constructed with a large double patio door to the balcony, a modern shower with endless hot water and had an incredible view, it was sufficiently spacious for 2 adults and a toddler over a 4 day visit. It was very clean, stocked daily with water, fruit and a split bottle of a local red or white wine. Everyone of the staff was friendly and the desk clerks treated you like they knew you, consistently asked how they could help you and arranged a discounted taxi trip back to Loi Cai with complimentary sandwiches and water for the trip to the Sapa train. The breakfast buffet included a large variety of tasty dishes and cooked to order eggs. The location is centrally located a block from the town center and french built church.

Room Tip: Ask for mountain view

Stayed here (now called Sapa Horizon Hotel) twice (before and after 3 day trek with Sapa Sisters).
Both times we were treated so politely and enthusiastically. Two different rooms --- 601 with balcony; 506 with a corner balcony; both with full length windows looking over the valley (building works are visible but only a minor issue).
Excellent buffet breakfast (just ask and eggs/pancakes/soups will be provided). Bedrooms had very good facilities --- large comfy beds with lovely sheets and mattress; security box, complimentary water, fruit and wine and toileteries.
Very helpful reception staff (David and Kim) --- we were given a late check-out when our transport to Mu Cang Chai was delayed
Highly recommend this hotel.

Staffs are very nice. You should book balcony mountain view room to enjoy amazing view and air (see pics).
They also have a temporary room in case of no room available for early check-in. Breakfast is good enough for a day of trekking around.
Hotel is at the center of Sapa, easy to take bus or taxi.

The Sapa Paradise View Hotel has recently changed it's name. There is a Sapa Paradise Hotel also which caused us some initial confusion. The Horizon Hotel as it is now called, has just undergone a very recent complete reburbishment and it feels wonderfully fresh and new. Firstly, the staff have been excellent. Nothing is too much trouble and they are keen to make this as good as it possibly can be. I love the fact that there is an actual computer in the room which is where I am writing this now. It is a spacious room with comfortable beds and an amazing view of the mountains. There are two balconies and we could open the doors up to let in the air (and noise but that is part of Vietnam). It is close enough to everything but not on a main road. Overall, a lovely experience. Thank you to manager Kim, David and the two Ahn's in the restaurant for making this so enjoyable. Friendly staff truly make a good hotel.

Room Tip: A view is worth it

We had a wonderful stay here! We took the overnight train from Hanoi and arrived in Lao Cai station on 23 Aug. A friendly driver organised by the hotel was waiting for us at Lao Cai station and he drove us to Sapa in a SUV (perfect for the windy narrow mountain roads!). Upon arrival, we were greeted with a nice cup of tea and complimentary upgrade to a suite (view from our suite as per photo attached). Our room was clean with nice furniture, including a king size bed. On 24 Aug, we were scheduled to take the overnight train back to Hanoi at 9:10pm and we were a bit worried because check out was at 11am. The manager let us use the room all afternoon, free of charge, and even prepared sandwiches for us for the train journey back! Very kind and welcoming. Could not have had a better stay :)
