The Talkeetna Roadhouse was one of my favorite experiences in Alaska. I stayed in the dorm which was quiet, clean and well worth the price! The 'living room' was comfortable and felt like someone's home. The restaurant was extraordinary! Everyone sat at long tables 'family style' and before long you were friends with everyone around you! The food was Delicious (note the capital D...) and the bakery was amazing. Even though it was packed on Labor Day weekend, everyone was well taken care of. Quite a find and a wonderful experience!

Room Tip: The dorms are really fine. The cabins looked very cute.

Fun experience to sit family style and compare notes with other people about Alaska adventures. The bakery is awesome and a good way to get snacks for the road. The hot cakes are amazing and very hearty.

We stayed at the Roadhouse in June and I have been meaning to write a review for three months now. We are two middle-aged women who wanted the experience of staying in an historical roadhouse and this exceeded our expectations. We stayed in the 4 bunk, bunkroom renting the whole room to ourselves which was a very reasonable cost. We stored our luggage on the other two bunks. The owner Trish provided excellent customer service and we appreciated her picking us up at the train and then taking us a little ways out of town to catch our bus to Anchorage. All the staff were great and the food at the Roadhouse was fantastic. I would love to go back again to stay. Next time I will opt for an upstairs room as only three rooms share a bathroom versus downstairs which is open to the public. That being said, the bathroons were always clean downstairs and seldom had a wait, The Roadhouse is perfectly situated in town, common areas very cozy and homey. If you want a fun, authentic roadhouse experience , with reasonable prices for Alaska, this is the place to go.

While we didn't stay at the roadhouse we did visit, and the proprietor Trish was a huge help while we were in Talkeetna. She drove us all over the area. I'd give a 5 had we eaten there, but our schedule didn't allow. Thanks Trish!

We stayed in room 1 upstairs in the Roadhouse above the dining room. It was a comfortable room, and was nice and quiet. It felt just like staying in someone's own home. Breakfast was wonderful and the bakery food amazing. A great location to explore town. Staff very helpful as well
