Still the very best Portuguese restaurant in Johannesburg. We had Garlic Steak and the Squid and with the most delicious vegetables! Be aware of the very potent Portuguese Peri Peri sauce on the table, it's hot! very hot!!! Good food, great service and we will be back!

This restaurant has a great vibe and sufficient room for large groups. The service was good and meals were presented within good time. The food was delicious

We haven't been to Parreirinha for at least 13 years, so we decided we need to visit the restaurant that left a lasting impression on us

First, you have to understand, this awesome restaurant is in real dodgy area of the South of Jhb. Yet, your car are always looked after and you never feel unsafe.

This place is a little gem. It truly is the best Portuguese restaurant. The atmosphere, decor is all natural and relax. There are no cliches and you don't feel that somebody had to pay a lot of money to create the authentic look and feel.

Our servers were attentive and really quick.

But the highlight, as it should be was the delicious food. It is a simple menu and I love the fact that there are not hundreds of dishes.

We started off with freshly baked Portuguese rolls, we didn't eat starters as we wanted to get to the prawns.

My husband had a plate of Queen prawns, I had the chicken and prawns. Everything was tasty, and the prawns are definitely the best I have eaten.

For desert we had dom pedros - but the Parreirinha special.

It was a pleasant evening, with good food and we enjoyed every second of it. We will be back soon with a host of our friends.

Just note: they don't have a kiddy menu but some of the dishes can be prepared for your child. Bookings are essential.

Stumbled on this pace because my first choice was closed and I wanted good Portuguese cuisine. GPS sent me to this pace which seemed to be in an old suburb of the South. Thankfully good security outside and a very welcoming place inside. Comprehensive menu and great accommodation for smokers. Chicken livers, chicken and espatada were a great hit. However the homemade peri-peri sauce is addictive and only comes in one heat level. Fair pricing and fair portions score this place high location is the only downfall.

What a great atmosphere with separate dining rooms which also made it also an intimate dining experience. The menu provided was good as was the service. Thanks to their birthday month offering 2 specials at "give away" prices.there was a special on the wine price too. The regular menu from which we chose fish & prawn dishes from is a little on the expensive side, but then one has to pay for quality of food & service these days. Thumbs up for a great evening out.
