We usually go here for our Anniversary dinner.

Love the sample plates, this way you get to try different dishes without booking yourself in for one large meal you might not like.

Not crazy about the foot traffic through the restaurant, as one night we were there, a lady swiped a handbag hanging off the back of one of the chairs. (she was caught in the parking lot- but beware)

They had a Curry Ice cream and poached Pear dessert the first time we went - Devine! But unfortunately the second time they removed it from the menu!
Please bring it back?

All and all, a bit pricy but good food.

Licorish Bistro remains a Favourite! It's always an absolute treat to go there any time of day! The breakfast is great and the coffee divine, the day time street food menu is packed with flavour but the real magic happens at dinner! The oxtail samosas and duck salad make for perfect starters and the burgers and steaks a perfect main... But the real treat lies in the Chef taste plates. The taste plates change daily and feature 3 dishes on the main or specials menu. It's a great way to try something new. Be sure to book in advance!

Great food and great selection of wines. Staff very good. only critiscm is the venue, not great in the centre, very noisy. The restaurant needs a more intimate venue to really shine.

I am not English mother-tongue, but the people I was with, yes and locals.
Still they were not able to catch the super-elaborated presentation of the dishes...
Said that, the place is quite cool and food is remarkable.
A negative note when I trusted on the wine suggested by the waiter: quite good, but you should have told me it was R530 the bottle...
