We chose the 5 course tasting menu. Each course was absolutely delicious and perfectly balanced with a great selection of wines. We were very impressed and satisfied!

We had dinner here with 2 families (small kids).
Kids can choose from the burger restaurant menu instead. We went for the 5 course dinner.
The food was excellent and the location of the restaurant is wonderful. Try to reserve a table on the sheltered terrace : that way you'll enjoy a beautiful sunset while enjoying your diner.
The kids can play in an air castle or in the small playground.
Staff is very friendly and helpful, they know the food and wine they serve and can answer all your questions about it. The choice in available wines is impressive.
We had a wonderful experience here and will be coming back here a lot.

Went there for Xmas Lunch. Have never been and the menu for the day looked great! Real fine dining or so I thought. The food was shocking! Smoked butter - NOT!. Smoorsnoek which is a typical SA dish - was inedible. Seared Tuna was VERY overcooked Tuna. Turkey Roulade so dry one could not eat it. Olive crumble was pieces of olives. Braised Beef cheeks was dry as bone. Trimmings were inedible. Panno cotta (pudding) was something serve in a pastry shell that resembles baby food. As for the ambiance - if there was any the kids and toddlers made sure that it disappeared very quickly. Three items were acceptable. The cauliflower panna cotta was good (nothing more). The beef fillet was not overcooked or dry. The burnt honey ice cream was very good. Such a pity as the Menu was very good and well balanced. Service slow. Wine average. The one pairing they suggested I question. Not sure if they understand how to pair. I almost got the feeling it was the blind leading the blind. From manager/owner ( who was there but never made his appearance) to Chef (?) to waiters.

Once every few years, a restaurateur has the distinct displeasure of encountering a guest who is so negative, so dripping with pure displeasure from the second they step foot through the door, that it makes them question why they went into this industry. You madam, are that person. When even the surrounding tables call us over to commiserate and encourage us to ignore your incessant complaining about every single aspect of single element in the restaurant, then surely we are at liberty to reject your “criticism” as pure, unadulterated and unswayable negativity bent of creating misery on Christmas for everybody in your wake.

Are we perfect? Surely not. Is every element of all 5 courses, service and ambience as awful as you claim? Certainly not. But don’t take our word for it. Here is what other guests had to say about Christmas eve dinner and day lunch:

Need I say more? What a MOST enjoyable evening!! Can't wait to see what you have up your sleeves for 2017!! Audrey van V

Three of us are here tonight. The setting was stunning and we are on the terrace while watching the sun set.

Our server, Richard, was very knowledgeable about the menu and I set him some challenges as I am a wheat and dairy free diabetic.

We all enjoyed our meal and can thoroughly recommend De Kloof.

We visited De Kloof tonight and the starters was good and the mains average. Good location and service, but unfortunately my night was absolutely spoiled by the worst "cheese" platter I ever saw. Quite simple, if you don't have any cheese , apologize and offer something else. Don't try to trick customers with creamy obscure substances and chutney. No cheese, no bread, no biscuits. Really!!
