A very special dining experience not to be missed. Booking absolutely essential since there is limited seating available. During your visit you will only encounter two people, your host and the sjef. They have a great wine selection and the food is always very very good. Please do not take children, this is a romantic adult restaurant.

We were the first guests to arrive and were received at our car by co-owner Athol who was very warm and charming. The décor and setting of the dining room is beautiful and I loved the stunning stained glass lamp shades and antiques. There is also a hearth in the dining room which must be lovely in the winter. Soft calming music was playing in the background and our host was most attentive. We were also introduced to the chef, Steff. Steff prepares all the meals himself in his huge kitchen, and the food we ordered were prepared on order and very fresh and enjoyable.
They have a decent wine selection although the menu is limited to three options for the main course with two options for dessert and I think four options for the entrée. I ordered prawns for a starter, duck for the main course and chocolate pudding for the dessert. The prawns were mouth-watering, the duck perfectly cooked and flavoursome while the dessert was delicious. My companion ordered the calamari, codfish for the main course and cheesecake for dessert, which was received with a lot of compliments and approval.
The venue is not child friendly or wheelchair friendly. It is actually lovely to visit a restaurant where there is no play area with screaming kids and just well-behaved adults around you, enjoying each other’s conversation over an outstanding meal.
The atmosphere is stunning the service exceptional and the food very good. It was fine dining with a bill of R1,100 for 2 people with a bottle of wine and bottle of still water (includes the tip). We will definitely be back and recommend this restaurant as one of the best in the entire area. You will be pleasantly surprised and not disappointed. Booking is essential.

Having visited this local restaurant on many occasions, recently with relatives from Scotland, Steffs Table never fails to serve mouth watering and well presented food. Tables are not as close together as in some restaurants therefore not making me feel they just want my money and push you out asap. Attentive and amusing service by Athlone (front of house) and a visit to the table by Steff (Chef) with information on the menu/food. Their once a month food & wine pairing is an event not to be missed.

We can truly say that this was the best meal we had this year. Stef and Athole are excellent hosts - the menu is "boutique" but the food is out of this world! Each meal is a culinary masterpiece, complimented by a very good selection of wines. We had the Newton Johnson Sauvignon Blanc- delicious. A definite must visit! Booking essential - they serve only 18 people at a time
