Let m start saying that my wife and I were here for a conference and this is where the hosts put the participants. We stayed here for five nights
What is the hotel name about? Not a clue
Hotel is ultra modern and sleek… and perhaps it is because it is too sleek for an old guy like me, but I didn’t enjoy this place all that much . The rooms are pretty small for two people (we tried to upgrade to a one bedroom suite but we were told there are only five in the whole hotel and that they were booked…. by very foresighted folks…
Anyway this hotel is really a mixed bag as you will read… the room doesn’t really have a closet… it’s a nook next to the window which is about eighteen to twenty inches wide with some hangers in it… the lighting in the room is dreadful… one overheard small spot light over the sink and the desk mirror and the sink is at the far end of the room from the windows, so no real natural night there… my wife and I agree that the lighting would make anyone look like a werewolf… certainly not appropriate for putting on makeup! The bed on the other hand is firm and comfortable. Sink counter space is virtually nonexistent. On the other hand the rain shower is good and strong and hot. There is no real coffee maker in the room… merely a tea pot and cups and Nescafe packets. There are no night lights for reading on either side of the bed (just ceiling spots)
Food in dining room: when we arrived we shared a salmon dish with a sauce – it was smothered in the sauce, but once it was scraped off it was a good piece of salmon and well cooked.
The pinot noir was terrible, but the rose’ offered by the glass was fabulous.
The food served at the conference was very, very good however… all catered by the hotel. A nice looking infinity pool which looks out on some industrial piping next door. (The water was cloudy the entire time we were there.)
Cappucinos were excellent. Breakfast also very good.
The “bath” towels (so small it is stretching to call them that) are very very thin and small… no washcloths provided
No hair conditioner offered in our room only shampoo and bath gel and moisturizer
Lots of great spaces outside… couches divans etc to hang out…
No drawers in the room… only shelves
No music player alarm, etc
Front desk service was excellent… I called for an iron and ironing board and it came up in minutes…same with the in room safe… it didn’t work and maintenance was up in two minutes to replace the batteries
water is free in hotel bottles and replenished daily in the rooms.
The staff, every one, was friendly and fabulous
See what I mean by a mixed bag?
