Easter 2018 - another highlight at the hotel, but poor sleep quality was experienced due to hollow mattresses. The floor was not swept prior to us checking in and had to call reception to send a cleaner. The amount of dust and pieces of paper she gathered, indicated that the room was not swept or mopped for at least a few days.

We stayed at the wilderness hotel for 3 nights during the Easter weekend thanks to a promotion on the back rooms. We were therefore not expecting much and ended up being VERY pleasantly surprised !
Our rooms was modern, clean and of a good size (especially given the fact it was their smallest one). The only problem was that there was no safe (but they offered at reception so all good) and that the ladies did not refill the soap bottles...
The breakfast was lavish: fresh pressed juice !! Moreover the lady at the omelette station was really helpful and nice :)
Prudence at reception was a real charm and so helpful.
The Barmen were also great and wow the drinks were affordable and good!
My only real down comment would be on the waiters in the breakfast area, they are not helpful, openly annoyed to do their job and leave table dirty ...
but we loved it and will be back on the next promotion

We found the hotel by Hotels application. The price was fare. It is a very good hotel, with nice brakefast, good WiFi and nice staff. The location is near the restaurant area, near the lake. We like it very much.

What a lovely experience, our visit was too short to make use of all the amenities, but we will surely visit again. The staff was friendly, the accommodation lovely and the area was just so central that we could not wish for better.

Location good, grounds and pool area good. Corridors noisy and ill kept. Our room overlooked the car park and the staff were at best indifferent, which for South Africa is a rarity. It was particularly disappointing in that I had pointed out on receipt of an email from the hotel that the various links in the email went directly to the Forex financial services site and not to the Wilderness Hotel site, I received this response:

"See exactly what you mean! And then this company is actually charging us per month as part of our companies signatures at the bottom of every mail…"

In the light of that I would have thought that some small gesture of thanks on arrival would have been nice !

Good day Sir -

I'm the Marketing Manager of the Group that markets 7 properties currently. You brought under our attention that one of the hundreds of links on all our online marketing platforms, was directing to the wrong site, and I thanked you personally for bringing that under out attention. That was about three months ago. If you can perhaps help me understand how I must bring that under the attention of one of our dozens of Front Desk Staff, in particular the lady who booked you in on arrival, also taking in consideration that I have no idea whose on duty when, and Front Desk is also checking in an average 50 rooms a day, it would be sincerely appreciated. I'm really sorry that a personal thank you for a kind gesture from a staff member not involved in any correspondence, was not included in your welcoming and that it could have such a severe effect on how you view service at the Hotel and your experience of our beautiful area and what it has to offer. Again, any ideas on how that could practically be possible would be much appreciated and would have the potential to change the Hotel industry as we know it. Kind regards.
