Maureen is what a hostess should be. Our previous guest house recommended and we were greeted like old friends. This country has so much to offer the independent traveller. W've stayed at guuest houses elsewhere in the world, so perhaps it was just a chain of good place knowing the next good place, or it is the culture. Yes, definitely the culture. Maureen also sent us to a great restaurant (the last guest house we were at had a restaurant on the site). Les Girls. Best salmon I've had outside my own country. Thanks for memories. Unfortunately this was my last stop in the country before I have to going back to being an old college professor!

Room Tip: Ask for the quaint room on top of the tree! So cozy

This was our last stay for our honeymoon and what a lovely and serene ending to a perfect honeymoon! Our little cottage had its own little courtyard which is excellent if you are in need of a bit more privacy. The manager and staff greeted us with such friendliness and was eager to help us in any way needed. The mornings we had a stunning breakfast buffet overlooking the lagoon and the evenings you could enjoy a glass of wine underneath the fairylight trees!
Thank you to all at Moontide, my husband and I really enjoyed our stay and will definately be seeing you again!

What a lovely place to stay! There's a little road that runs along the river that takes you down to MoonTide, nestled at the end. Up a few steps, through a small gate, and you are in a little secluded wonderland. The cottage we stayed in had a roomy master bedroom, with a bathroom accessible from both from there and the small second bedroom. The bathroom had lovely fragrant soaps as an amenity, which can be purchased as gifts at the weekly Saturday outdoor market in Sedgefield. Beautiful trees and flowers give each cottage a feeling of privacy, and it's peacefully quiet. In the morning, we sat on the deck overlooking the river for a lovely buffet and cooked breakfast. Both the owner, Maureen, and the manager, Tim, are friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The site is close to the restaurants, including the one that gave us the most fabulous evening and dinner of our trip to S. Africa, called Serendipity. Worth booking ahead - Maureen secured the table for us. We went to Knysna for the day - be sure to visit Thesen Island and have lunch at Ile de Pain. We, also, enjoyed MonkeyLand in Plettenburg Bay. Thanks to Maureen and Tim, we have very fond memories of our time in Wilderness.

We had such a stunning stay at Moontide. Tim was a superb host and the crew of friendly and helpful staff were just brilliant. Stayed in two rooms, each beautifully decorated, spacious and with everything we needed. Stunning views of the lagoon. Great location for runs around the lagoon, walks down the beach and canoeing. Went for business, but it felt like a holiday- would go back in a heartbeat!! Thank you, thank you!!

We enjoyed our stay very much. It is a wonderful place .Moontide is in a Cul de Sac. Enjoying the hearty breakfast on the deck or relaxing and overviewing the lagoon is just fantastic. Milkwood cottage is nicely decorated. Authentic and done with passion. The staff is very friendly and helpful. A big thank you to Tim who recommended restaurants and places to see during our stay. You are spoilt with choice at Moontide.Either a short walk along the lagoon to the beach or a bit longer over the bridge to the village. You also have access from the beach to George Street.
