I can really recommend one of the units with View. Wow, wow, wow. Possibly one of the best stays in Kruger! Everything was clean and neat, with a braai area overlooking the Pioneer Dam. Very relaxing. All staff we encountered were very professional and friendly. Will definitely come back!

Restful and tranquil surroundings. Enjoy South African wildlife and admire the animals from the deck of the restaurant at the Pioneer dam next to it. Lovely swimming pool to cool you down even at night.
Rondawels not so well equipped; rather go for a family unit. Airconditioning a bonus because it can be very hot in summer. Good restaurant.

This is one of my favorite camps in Kruger national park. It is further north than the more crowded camps and it is the youngest. A good size camp with great pool surrounded by trees and rocks. Many birds around the pool and lizards and even a water monitor on the rocks next to the pool. The camp has many chalets that are fully equipped with own shower, bathroom and kitchen. Nice shaded patios allow you to enjoy the ambiance. Some chalets may have issues with bats inhabiting the cracks in the ceiling and if you notice that (you will smell the bat guano when you enter your cottage), you should request another cottage. In general the chalets are nice and well equipped. Kitches are outside for most chalets except for the very large ones with multiple rooms which are also more expensive. We have noticed a decline in the maintenance of the cottages. Some efforts are being made to at least get the roofs of some of the chalets fixed or outfitted with mesh wire to prevent birds from destroying the roofs.
A quiet and often uncrowded park makes this one of our favorites. Wi Fi reception worked well.

The staff were very accommodating in booking us in at the Mopnai rest camp at short notice after being rained out whilst camping. The chalet was clean and well maintained. The chalet only has the sleeping and ablutions inside with the cooking/kitchen facilities outside under cover... but who needs to stay inside and cook when you have the bush and wild animals around you (outside the fence) The chalet was close enough to the restaurant and shop. the restaurant overlooks the pioneer dam where you can sit on the deck and sip sun downers watching the hippos in the water or the wildlife coming down to drink.

Our first visit to Kruger. Mopani is a nice quiet rest camp. Our bungalow had a beautiful view over the dam and was very peaceful. The restaurant on the deck overlooking the dam was great. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms need some TLC and fixing up. Saw plenty of game and elephants. Next time will try another rest camp further south.
