A very nice but a bit spartan (no electricity) accomodation near Pafuri gate, close to Kruger. Its a bit difficult to reach with a normal ( not a 4wd) car but the treehuts are worthwhile. Lots of privacy with a view on the river.

Lovely setting with tents on stilts within a few steps of the river. Cool breeze at night through the tent in the treetops was very welcome.
Good value for money with the option of self catering or not. As has been mentioned the bed linen and mattresses could do with an update. BUT this is the bush and you are pretending to camp, getting all the pleasure from being outdoors without the hard work of actually camping.
Each group of tents is completely private so that you feel that you might be all alone there.
When you want to be with other people you can always go to the pool, bar and central lapa.
Very short drive to the Pafuri Gate into Kruger National Park.

The unique location adjacent to Kruger Park and right on the banks of the Mutale river makes this destination unforgettable. The birdlife in the camp is prolific with specials such as thrush nightingale, pel's fishing owl and niassa seedcracker to name a few, has been seen in the camp. The staff are friendly and helpfull and the treehouse style tents are fantastic.

We had an excellent time, this being the first time I managed to get my none camping partner into a tent. Having the tent in the trees was fantastic for catching the river breezes at night and the beds were comfortable ( bed linen needs some attention , clean but full of tears) . Everything you need is there, kitchen, hot showers and toilet with a big braai area. Exploring the Pafuri area of the Kruger is easy from here and when you get back the beers are lovely and cold and the company is friendly in the bush bar by the pool. What more do you need?

We brought rain to Pafuri, and it wasn't designed for bad weather! We arrived, with friends, in blazing heat, and were charmed by the stilted tented accommodation, and rustic kitchen and ablutions. We had 2 tents in our own campsite, everything set for a wonderful weekend of relaxation on the river banks.
The welcome was warm and helpful, and the central lapa, bar and pool are great.
Unfortunately on day 2 the heavens opened, without any prospect of relief, and the camp is just not designed to manage this. There is nowhere private to sit, and one has to walk through mud everytime you move.
To be fair, rain of this nature is rare in Pafuri, and if I was guaranteed good weather I would try again.
The River Camp is not in Kruger (as per the tripadvisor title) but just outside the Kruger Pafuri gate.

Room Tip: The camp is designed with groups of tents, so it would be possible to be private with just your own group - ask for the number of tents for your group to facilitate this.
