As a active business owner in the Tourism Industry, I get to travel to many destinations in our beautiful country, there are many places that it can only be said are a stop over to your final destination... however Seringa Lodge is NOT one of those!! It is the Destination!

Seringa Lodge is tucked away in the rolling hills in White River, on a Meticulous manicured estate, with a prolific amount of birdlife, the lodge itself exudes old colonial charm of a bygone era, while sipping on a G&T on the magnificent deck one would expect a fellow traveller to clear their throat and say "Livingston I Presume ?"

The suites are spacious, well decorated. The linen and bedding always crisp & clean - a must in my book!! the Mossie nets not only offer protection from the flying things but also add a sense of romance.

The Lodge is Owner run by Roger and Cecilia - and you can see it! Roger an experienced Ranger and avid golfer is encyclopaedia of bush knowledge and a sport trivia, Cecilia a renowned chef in the Lowveld, whips up fresh exotic meals that are nothing short of amazing.

As a gateway to the Lowveld, White River and Seringa Lodge is the perfect place for exploring the historical Panoramic Route & or Safaris into the Kruger National Park, be it in your own vehicle or on a open vehicle Safari with Roger - the latter I can highly recommend.

Once at Seringa you will not want leave - I look forward to my next stay, Thanks guys for a real memorable stay

I travel extensively throughout Southern Africa and stay at many hotels and lodges but the fantastic experience at Seringa Lodge tops many wonderful places. From booking in to the amazing food to the very friendly staff. I was blown away. The game drives are something else, Roger is extremely knowledgable and experienced. If you looking for a wonderful atmosphere with a very experienced and professional couple who are involved in everything I recommend you try Seringa. You will not be disappointed.

I've been to Seringa 5 or 6 times and agree that the owners are super nice. Celia is an AMAZING cook- like best food in the region outside of Cape Town. Seriously. BUT, after our last visit our baby and toddler were covered head to toe in bites and I had to write this review.

The lodge has no a/c and the fans are old, don't work, and very slow. If you go when it's hot (which is most of the time) it's pretty uncomfortable. But that's not the real problem. The problem is that to compensate, they leave ALL the windows and doors open. And for some reason I can't understand, there are no screens on the windows.

The result is that every time I've stayed there are mosquitos, bugs, lizards and frogs in the rooms. The windows above the bathtub are left open (of course) so that everyday there is a layer of bugs in the tub. I'm not that picky, but I live in Mozambique, and malaria risks are real. We took our baby and of course all the windows are open, so there are plenty of mosquitos in the room. They gave us a net for the baby's cot, which was nice, but the net had holes. In addition, the cot they gave us had holes. So our baby was COVERED in bites. Our three year old slept under her net but was also covered in bites.

She was so uncomfortable, she scratched her bites till they bleed. Her sheets were bloody that morning, but housekeeping didn't even change the bloody sheets. These are simple problems to fix- just put up screens and get working fans. It's a mystery why they don't do this. Save yourself the bites and discomfort and stay somewhere else.

We have recently rented the entire lodge for a group vacation. Cecilia, Roger and their staff went above and beyond to guarantee that the entire group had a lovely and memorable visit. Each meal was superb and an amazing value. We were even able to request a special meal, which Cecilia pulled off with professional grace.

In spite of the mayhem of multiple families with many little children and needs, Cecilia and Roger were attentive hosts.

I continue to recommend Seringa Lodge as a great place for a quiet get-away and a very good value.

We are travelling regulary to the region and staying always at Sering Lodge because we are feeling very good with the atmosphere. Cecila is doing excellent food, we have had and fantastic Kruger tours with Roger and the staff working there are so nice. The rooms are clean and well equipped, the garden is very nice and gives time for relaxing and we are always meeting new interesting guests to talk with.

If you are staying at Seringa, you will never be disappointed.

It takes about 30 min by jeep to the nearest gate in Kruger park but this is a wonderful, calm place to return for after a day in the park or after a trip up in the mountains by your own! Don´t hesitate for the distance. Don´t hesitate to go her by car from Joburg either. It takes you about 5 hours and it´s easy to drive.
When coming "home" after a day in Kruger park or elsewhere you return to a peaceful and very nice furnished house and can sit looking out over a wonderful garden, take a swim in the small pool and have a superb 3 course dinner.
The food is fantastic prepared by the owner Cecilia herself or with help from her kitchen maid. You choose the wine you prefer from the bar in the living room.
We really felt at home at Seringa and had wonderful afternoons in the garden after long and exciting tours in the Kruger park.
This is a very good choice when you want to visit Kruger park and other very interesting places in this part of the country.

Room Tip: All rooms were very nice furnished but we loved our room in the small annex closest to the families...

We had a great time in Seringa Lodge! Up before the sun to reach the Kruger gate in time for opening, and great days of safari with expert Wildlife Guide Roger! We experienced all the animals we dreamed of, and many more. And learned a lot from Rogers great knowledge of his subject. In the afternoons we chilled on the terrace and the children played in the pool and explored the mystic forrest on the premises. In the evenings we enjoyed Cecilia's superb cooking and the "Karen Blixen" atmosphere on the terrace.
