High tea in the spectacular crystal room is an experience not to be missed if you're staying anywhere in Sun City. A pre-booking gives entrée to the well-guarded Palace and its grounds as well as free valet parking as a bonus. The extremely reasonable price of R155.00 buys you a good selection of pastries and cakes as well as the pleasure of listening to an extremely talented pianist on the enormous Weisenbacher grand apparently inaugurated by Liberace himself some years ago. Kudos to JP who entertained us so beautifully on our visit. Grab the carrot cake first though as that appears to be a favourite amongst the staff who rather strangely helped themselves to the last two pieces long before the end of tea time!
Apart from the tea it is worth paying that amount for the sheer pleasure of enjoying visionary, Sol Kerzners, ultimate dream palace, which, in both my and my husband's opinion, far outstrips any of the Vegas complexes for magnificence and faithfulness to a theme (African grandeur).

We went for the high tea so that we could gain entrance into the hotel, which we were told was worth seeing. The cakes, pastries and dessert were good. We enjoyed our confectionaries accompanied by the music performance of a flute player.
After our high tea, we were allowed to explore the hotel premises. It was really a grand and majestic hotel. It was worth to pay for the high tea to enjoy the majestic architecture of the Palace Hotel if you’re not staying there.

A true South African gem and an inspiration for the hospitality industry in SA. The service was exceptional, the rooms are huge and very well laid out. The only issues we had was with the shower which cycled from hot to cold and a Saturday night dinner in the main restaurant, where the food quality was appalling. However the breakfasts were a feast.

Did I mention the staff were amazing???

This is a classic hotel and well worth a visit.

Room Tip: Any room will do - just go there.

We booked from Leading World Hotel website and stated there for 2 nights in june 2012. The first impression was amazing with the grandeur of the buildings and all.. We chose the luxury family suite and the room was awesome ( though the bathroom could use a little touch up)

We were assigned a personal butler to do all private gamr reserves and other visits in the sun city.. Room had turned down service and afternoon snacks were plentiful provided in the room for free..the extra bed was from convertible couch which was not very comfortable for adults but for kids was ok

We had bfast served in the room for free and was plentiful.. The valley if waves was beautiful as well and its free if you stayed at Palace.. It is the mist expensive hotel in the resort and all staffs knew you by name which I think is very pleasant

We had dinner at the crystal court and the food was ok not really amazing.. Lunch next to the royal pool was good with amazing view of the hotel

They also provided shuttle abywhere within the resort with personal mercedez car from palace which I thought was convenient for a small tip to the drivers .. There were also bus shuttle going round the resort too for free , but I preferred personal transfer

Overall stay is good and would return to thus hotel

Room Tip: Ask higher floor rooms and check the heater is blowing warm air

Imagine you book your wife a suite in The Palace at the Lost City she alwayse wanted as a 50th Birthday present, but when you get there a mixup with reservations leads to a downgrade to a junior suite at the back of the Hotel with limited views and on the third floor.

The rest of the Hotel is filled to capacity with conference delegates all booking in at reception at the time of our arrival. Well, between Hotel management and Sabrina Fick (Executive Floor Manager) we were taken to a VIP reception room where they booked us in. They sorted out our luggage and soon we were able to enjoy drinks with friends and start the festivities.

As a special touch Sabrina organised the most devine chocolate mouse birthday cake, our beds were covered in orange rose petals with candles on eitherside and my wife forgave me for the mixup.

We would like to specially thank Sabrina for taking care of us so well, and making it a very special occasion. We would also like to say a special thanks to the Casino management who also contributed to make it a memorable stay. Mr & Mrs. Bosman

One of the most beautiful place in the world...If you want to spend a lovely honey moon or make a dream trip in couples...that's will be an unforgettable souvenir. The rooms are very large, just a little bit kitsch, but it's the charm of this place. The breakfast is absolutely incredible...a huge amount a fresh fruit juice, large choice of meat, fish, fruits, vegetable, omelets...Of course go for a safari when you are there...if in your life, you have an opportunity to go there...DO IT !!!
