The food is freshly made for each customer, so it takes time, but it is excellent. Go with friends, or take a book, and the wait won't seem so long.

We have been visiting Minato for years. They recently moved around the corner to Long Street. The brother and sister who run the place are incredibly hard working people. The sushi is of outstanding quality and much better than 99 out of 100 restaurants who serve 'supermarket' sushi. If you want something special go visit Minato. You won't be disappointed and you will keep coming back. I'll promise.

This is still the best and most creative sushi one can get in Cape Town! Prices are fair and the rolls huge and yummy!

Don't be mistaken folks! An unassuming restaurant, with very good prices, humble chefs and sweet Thai waitress. This is the best sushi I have ever eaten (including the best in Sydney & San Fransisco). Don't miss it, had lunch twice, always fresh and beautiful. The sashimi is just incredible. Kudos guys.

The sushi looked nice although quite pricey.
The miso soup was good.
The dim sum, however, is to be AVOIDED. Beef won ton tasted like boerewors taken out of its casing and the shrimp dumpling was soggy. I could not try the pork as that was out of stock as were the pan fried dumplings. I missed the condiments normally served with dim sum as only soy sauce accompanied the meal.
It will teach me not to stray from what is good and to stick to South China Dim Sum bar when in Long street.
