What a fantastic Saturday market! The food and drink selection is amazing - with a huge range of artisan vendors. Our fav was the Fyn Roobos ice tea. A selection for everyone. Funky shops and stalls to browse. MThe the best coffee in Cape Town is served at the Expresso Lab !! Go early as local parking can become a squeeze

We came to the Old Biscuit Mill because we had a lunch reservation at The Pot Luck Club. Both before and after our meal we meandered through the many shops and had a look. Clothing, art work, alcohol and caffeine can all be found here. Well worth a look when in Cape Town as a chance of pace from the V&A Waterfront.

Yes the Saturday market offers a lot of niche foods but it is so crowded and pricy you nearly only see visitors shop here. Not sure it would be worth the detour on the days the Saturday market is not open. The locals can't afford what is sold here. For tourists! Typical tourist fares of clothes, jewelry, sunglasses, drinks, chocolate, etc. Nothing special.

We attended late Saturday Morning (apparently that is when it is the busiest).

The car parking "helpers" seemed a little over confident after we parked, assuming this is because it is mainly a tourist destination so they think they can get away with whatever they demand. The guy did tell us straight after we parked that we needed to pay him 20 Rand. My partner who has been living in Cape Town for sometime now was able to politely tell him we werent fooled and he would receive a tip when we returned to our vehicle. Which as soon as he heard that was completely fine and walked off to "help" others park.

The Old Biscuit Mill is filled with different stalls, from knick knacks to food. The range in food stalls is incredible. So much to eat and drink. There was live music and bars with wine tasting as well. I was also pleasantly surprised to find G&T on tap!!

Definitely worth a visit for something different on your Saturday morning.

I am not a foodie and didnt go to the food market saturday which appears to be good and popular - however i have no idea why this has such good reviews as there is about 10 shops selling junk and a couple of restaurants/ cafes - we were in and out of the place in less than 30 mins .
