Stayed for 3 nights at the Protea; only good things about this hotel.
This used to be a prison and is now also a school of business.
Rooms are small and with a very unusual layout, that seemed to work perfectly for us. I stayed with a friend in room 1024... its actually 2 rooms with 2 twin beds each and a split bathroom... quite nice.. small but very nice... oh, and loved the toiletries and internet services worked well.
Our package did not include breakfast... some guest told me its about US20. Pid $130 for the double suite per night.
The shuttle to the airport was ZAR 400, a bit expensive but convenient.
Now the details:
It's right accross the street from the aquarium and the hop on and off... so perfect for first timers in cape town... within 7 min walk to the waterfront, comedy club and robben island ferry, the wheel and much more...
Very safe, clean area... lots of shopping and eateries I just loved it!
I did not use their services but they have a tour desk and most tour guides collect you there.
hey also have massage packages at good prices
Check in and check out was a breeze..
Without a doubt would definitely stay there again..More
