We stayed in this hotel for 6 days. Our room was large and functional - with TV, safe, coffee machine and a fridge. The WiFi was free but it was very weak, practically not usable most of the time. We participated in the conference in Cape Town so this hotel was our choice due to its proximity to the Convention Center - just a short walking distance. It is also very close to Long street and The Green Market. The taxi access to the hotel is at the back of the building. The main entrance and the restaurant are in the front of the hotel.
The surrounding area was fairly safe but beware of the insistent beggars.
The housekeeping service varied. The ladies were sometimes forgetting some of the supplies for the room but the room was clean. Our beds were comfortable.
Everyday we ate our breakfast at the hotel. The breakfast they offered was nutritious with variety of propositions buffet style.
We ate dinners three times in the hotel restaurant. The food was fairly good. One time the service was unacceptably slow. Friday night we dined there with some live music.
We used laundry service and it was great. Concierge helped us with arrangements for a trip to Groote Schuur . Only on our last day we found out they had a free shuttle to the airport.

Dear Valued Guest
Thanks so much for the wonderful review and for raising areas for improvement which enables us to know about shortcomings and strive to get our service levels higher.
We have engaged the services of one of Cape Town's top restaurant specialists to provide staff with further training specifically on areas that you raised.
Thanks again and we hope to see you back soon!
Yours in hospitality Paul and The HOTS Team

I stayed here for 7 days. We had gone for a conference at the convention centre. The hotel was really close to the centre. The staff were all extremely helpful, and would always go out of their way to make our stay comfortable. I'm grateful to Devron, Desmond, Donald & Charles who really made us comfortable, and arranged all our tours, despite having last minute notice. They arranged African eagle tours for us, who were really professional and looked after us well. The room was large and cozy. House keeping was efficient and the kitchen staff were also helpful and friendly. They packed us our breakfast for a safari tour for which we had to leave at 5:30 am which was very kind of them. We had free wifi. There were a number of other people who attended the conference who also stayed here, as well as staff for the IUGA conference. I would recommend this hotel wholeheartedly, and look forward to staying here again.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very comfortable and lovely and warm on a cold winters' day in Cape Town. The restaurant has a fair menu but we had to go elsewhere for more of a variety of food.

This feels like an old building that has been restored. The lobby is not great but the rooms were very enormous with everything you may need including USB ports for charging and a wall safe. The bathroom had been recently redone and I was very comfortable.

The buffet breakfast was not bad, and all in all I had a pleasant stay. The 500GB of wifi was used up in ½ my stay but as there is 4G I used my phone with no issues.

You get a kettle and instant coffee / tea in the room so if you are a coffee snob you'll need to bring your own.

Dear Valued Guest
Thanks so much for the kind comments! We have taken heed of your comment regarding 500 MB of data and now guests can have unlimited data if they exceed the 500 MB. Whilst we do have instant coffee in the rooms we have Truth Coffee in our restaurant which can be ordered upstairs and Truth just received an award for having the best coffee shop in the world, so I'd love you to try it on your next visit. We look forward to seeing you again soon! Yours in hospitality Paul and The HOTS Team

Very close to public transport (train, myciti bus terminal). 10 minutes walk to V&A. Need to improve on breakfast meals and introduce new meals. Rooms are spacious and beautiful with view of the inner city. Friendly staff. Parking provided for guests
