Without a doubt Derwent House is one of the most welcoming and friendly hotels we have visited. Anahid and her team, including Luca the manager, and support staff (including Amalga, Bukho, Xolani and Mash), were so helpful and went out of their way to ensure we had a truly wonderful time in Cape Town. Luca even drove us to the Airport when our scheduled driver cancelled!
We stayed a total of 17 nights in one of the self-catered apartments, very comfortable and quiet. Derwent House is located in a very quiet, safe and well-located residential area of Cape Town. Very easy to get around. Although we like walking, and walked all the way to the V&A Waterfront and back many times, we found it easy to get around town by Uber, helped by the fully-loaded smart phone that the hotel provides for one's stay. That is a real bonus! Because we had an apartment, we did not eat the hotel's breakfast but we did enjoy the afternoon tea with freshly-baked cakes and the complimentary espresso and other coffee, and the honour bar. Much appreciated!
The hotel is also very close to Kloof Street with its many good restaurants - our favourites were Melissa's and Manna Epicure. And grocery stores, Checkers and Woolworths, are close by also.
Thank you Anahid for a wonderful stay. We plan to come back, and we will recommend Derwnet House to all our friends.More
