This was the start of our South Africa adventure.
Rooms were very spacious and comfortable, we were upgraded to one of the larger rooms upon arrival. The grounds are beautiful, we wish we had more time there to relax in the gardens and pool.
The location is great for exploring the area around Cape Town.
It was an easy drive into the Waterfront and also to get down to Cape Point.
We ate in the restaurant the first night, it was delicious. The breakfasts were lovely too.
Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable too and advised on what we should do and even helped us to book our Robben Island trip.

This was our fourth visit to Glen Avon Lodge and the extremely high standards are still being maintained. This is a lovely property with delightful gardens and swimming pool owned by the Stringer family. The rooms are large, as are the bathrooms, and very well appointed. Dinner is optional, and is usually reserved at breakfast. The food is of a very high standard and beautifully presented.
The staff are polite and friendly as are the owners.
Constantia is a lovely area in which to stay, and access to wine estates and The Waterfront etc could not be easier.
We would not dream of staying anywhere else whilst in Capetown.

This was our final destination for 3 nights, concluding our 4 week drive thru SA.
A tranquil place as a starting point for our last trips to Cape Town, Robben Island, Tafelberg, Botanic Garden and the Peninsula with Cape Point and Cape of Good Hope.
Our lodge was spacious and we had the good environment for final suitecase packing and preparing for our trip home. The hosts were very friendly and attentative to my dieet-requirements. Decoration in main building is slightly old-fashioned English to our taste but certainly well maintained. We had a good swim in pool surrounded by a very nice garden. For our next visit we definately will stay there again, although we considered it on the high side in cost for value offered, such compared with all the other luxuous lodges we visisted during our stay in SA.

We had a fantastic time in South Africa and particularly enjoyed our time at Glen Avon Lodge with its luxurious rooms, friendly staff and delightful gardens. We particularly enjoyed breakfast on the terrace in the sunshine. We also recommend others to sample at least one of the dinner menus. David and Wendy made us very welcome and we hope to stay at Glen Avon Lodge again.

I have just left Glen Avon after enjoying 5 nights as part of my business trip in South Africa. I have stayed numerous times at Glen Avon over the past 7 years but i am guilty of never writing publicly on trip advisor. So here goes...! Well put simply it is a very desirable, comfortable, friendly, and thoroughly enjoyable place to stay, either on holiday or on business. It has everything you need from modern designed bedrooms with luxury ensuites ,broadband internet access, 1st class dining & wines at affordable prices and friendly & very helpful staff always on hand to make you feel at home and part of the Glen Avon "family". My absolute favourite things include the very leisurely and scrumptious breakfasts on the terrace overlooking the beautifully manicured gardens. Quite honestly i have already started planning my next business trip so i can get my next Glen Avon fix!! Keep up the good work & look forward to staying again soon..
