First time at Glen Avon Lodge, fantastic place. We had a poolside suite, plenty of room very clean, all your could wish for in comfort.
Wonderful breakfast. A very good value 3 course evening meal. Staff extremely helpful with information of where to go and places to eat. Will certainly be back. Could not fault this gem

Room Tip: Poolside Suite

Just spent 4 days at this wonderful guest house. A very warm welcome from Livinston who was so charming. He then continued to look after our every need during our 4 days, with a very calm and professional attitude. It was clear to see he was passionate about his work.

Our room was spacious and airy with a very comfy bed and the ensuite bathroom was very well appointed. Delightful toiletries and a lovely big bath with room for 2!

Breakfast served on the terrace with plenty of choice for everyone. We had dinner one evening in the dining room and although a limited choice, the meal was excellent.

A very special mention must go to Lauren who went "that extra mile" helping us to find accommodation for another night due to our flight being cancelled at very short notice. We were unable to stay on at Glen Avon as they were full and British Airways were totally unhelpful in finding any accommodation for us.

Lauren checked us in to our new flights, printed our boarding passes and made sure we were "set" before we left. The hotel she found us right by the airport was absolutely super. She knew exactly our requirements.

All in all, a very relaxing 4 days staying in a very professionally run and charming guesthouse. Will we come back??? ABSOLUTELY YES.

We are staying here for the last four days of our holiday. It is beautiful, the room is large, airy, plenty of hanging space and the bathroom is large very modern with a lovely bath, shower and two basins. The surroundings are beautiful with a lovely pool area.
The breakfast is very nice and we are eating here tonight which is unusual so looking forward to just 'falling' out of our room into the very pleasant dining room. Not a large menu but we have chosen what we want to eat.
The staff are charming and friendly. The hotel is surrounded by the usual electric fence and has a electric gate, well we are near Cape Town. Glen Avon Lodge is only twenty minutes drive into Cape Town depending on traffic.
We would happily stay here again.

If you are after a small boutique personal place to stay, then this is the one.
The room was great, overlooking the pool, had everything we needed (apart from an iron and board) although we were offered for someone to do it for us.
The staff were all really friendly, and the breakfasts are great, fresh fruit platter to start, continental and a cooked breakfast.
We had one dinner in the lodge which was lovely also. - you must book this dinner well in advance, and the choice is limited to two variations per course.
We arrived back one late afternoon, wanting to eat in the restaurant as were told it was too late as preparations had been done.
All in all, good value for money

Room Tip: I would recommend that you have a car here

We had an enjoyable stay at Glen Avon Lodge during the Test match. It was a peaceful retreat from the bustle of Cape Town and Newlands. We'd like to mention Beauty, Linton and Livison for their friendly service.

Thank you for mentioning our staff in your review. It is much appreciated and I always get them to read the reviews and have an imput, as to the improvements we can make to "Glen Avon".We hope you'll visit Cape Town again, in the near future.
