We enjoyed the cottage and it’s location in a very quiet green part of Cape Town. The bed was very comfy, it has tables and chairs both inside and out and a small kitchen area with sink, frig and microwave. Both hosts, Selwyn and Jenny, are very personable and helpful. Internet signal is good although we did have a couple of temporary signal problems. You do require a vehicle to get around as even the closest restaurant is about 1km away
What a delightful welcome from Jenny and Selwyn.
Arriving at their place just after 2 pm from Hout Bay having driven up from Knysna I drew a sigh of relief to park the car and disgorge all the stuff accummulated from 2 weeks travels!
Constantia is a leafy suburb in the Southern suburbs very close to the amazing wine lands and afording excellent access to central Capetown as well as Muisemberg False Bay Rugby Club and an old favourit Peddlars on the bend!
This tidy small studio is clean and cool with burglar bars and good security in the garden.
It has a mini kitchen ideal for snacks and cool drinks from the fridge.
There is a table outside and a small sofa on the patio.
The bathroom is a little dated and could do with the broken tiles being replaced. There is a bath but with water in short supply I would not presume to use it!
If it was removed it could beome a much needed cupboard to accommodate suitcases!!
The bed is very comfy the linen is good quality and there is parking and a pool if you want to cool off...
Be warned there is no tv and no books either!!
It would be quite wonderful if there were a few novels on a shelf ...not just quide books to South Africa in a cupborard!! although quite useful...
This modest little studio is good value for money although it has been very noisey!
2 days of tree felling at close quaters daily multiple dog barking and yelping at first light followed by male voices shouting the odds just over the wall..
The main road is fairly loud too...the outside verandah roof sounds like chairs being moved as trees shed twigs and bits onto it in the middle of the night!!!
Apart from a lot of noise the birds and the surrounding trees are very delightful and at times it does become a haven of peace which is really ideal!!
Thank you to Jenny and Selwyn for making an effort at making their guests feel comfortable.
My only request would be to provide their guests with a clothes line or clothes horse to dry bathers and towels during the warmth of the day.
The blind on window opposite bed!
Think the bathroom could do with one too!
