Located above a small shopping mall, walking distance to town center and whale watch, free parking (call them when you arrive they will let you in), large apartment (3 bedrooms on 2 floors),it was fine but can be better reserved. We didn’t have a view. Breakfast ok, Service in general was great and very helpful.

We stayed for 2 nights and had a great stay.Wished we stayed another night.Bed very comfortable and room spacious.Good breakfast buffet and loved the mushrooms with cooked breakfast.Pleasant staffs.Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because our safe didn’t work and we rang twice and went to reception twice and it was still not sorted by the time we left.Nice coffee machine.Lovely body wash.

Room tip: Have room away from street

Dear Theresa,

Thank you for your lovely feedback! We are so pleased that you had a most enjoyable stay and enjoyed our scrumptious breakfast - the Chefs are overjoyed with your feedback!

We have noted your comments with disappointment with regard to your safe not working and have raised this with the department head as a training issue.

We do look forward to welcoming you back for an extended stay soon.

Kind regards,

Harbour House Hotel Team

This hotel, sadly, shows no generosity of spirit. From the moment of check in wherein you are asked to pay in full upfront and also pay a R750.00 Deposit for accentals to being charged for an espresso at breakfast when paying nearly R4000.00 a night, surely this is not right. This is not w budget hotel yet they treat guests like a budget style facility

Dear Bev,

Thank you for your feedback.

Worldwide, due to what we call the “perishability” of our product, full payment is due on arrival unless prior payment arrangements have been made with a guarantee on payment, should the guest not arrive.

This secures your booking as our valued guest and the sale for us as the establishment. If we do not have a payment up front and you do not arrive, we could lose revenue on a room which is lost forever. The window to sell that room for the day is valid for that day only and expires at the end of that day.

It is also common practise to take what we call a pre-authorisation. This protects the business against people purchasing from outlets at the property, and charging to their room and then leaving without paying.

Our breakfast, which we include in the rate, includes filter coffee and tea which again is a common standard.

We do hope this clears up any misconceptions or misunderstanding and that we can welcome you back again.

Kind regards,

Harbour House Hotel Team

Stayed in room 5 which has spectacular views of the bay. Could see many whales from the room window.

Staff were very helpful.

The downside of the room was not having any storage space for clothing other than an open hanging rail. Also there is no separation between bedroom and bathroom. There is no door on the shower and the toilet glass door offered limited privacy!

Despite an advance email to the hotel, unfortunately there was an extremely limited selection of vegan food.

Apart from the above we had a really nice stay and would certainly consider returning to the Harbour House Hotel.

Dear KSG_7

Thank you for your open and honest feedback about room 5.

Being a Heritage building, we are restricted in what we can and cannot do to the room, whilst maximising on space and the unsurpassed view of Walker Bay and the whales.

We have noted your disappointment about the limited selection of vegan food, and our Chef has been informed for future menu planning.

We are pleased to note that apart from the points noted, you had an enjoyable stay and hope that you will certainly return.

Kind regards,

Harbour House Hotel Team
