Well positioned for business meetings - or just catching up with a friend after going to the hairdresser in the Centre. The plus factor is that there are no parking problems and the venue is convenient and easy to find if you are new to Hermanus. Very friendly staff, fabulous coffee and whatever you order is well prepared and tasty.

Very friendly service. Food nice
Closes far too early. Doors being closed at 15h30. Other than that it is a nice place to sit down and relax.

If you have read some of my other reviews you will know that i live in Hermanus and enjoy having breakfast at different restaurants with my various friends every few weeks or so.

Running Rabbit is one of those restaurants that keeps changing owners. Not the fault of the owners but it is in a less than ideal position in a small shopping complex about 2 km outside the CBD. Each iteration of the restaurant has been equally charming and every time I have regretted when it changed hands, more for the sake of losing a favourite menu item, than that the new menu was bad. The coffee is always excellent.

The Running Rabbit is also one of the few restaurant I have visited repeatedly as I know I can have a decent breakfast at a good price. My most recent visit (the fourth this year) was with my cousin. He had the Safari breakfast, which is a absolute must when visiting, and I opted for the 3-egg Omelette for a change. The food was solid breakfast fare (but not spectacular), and was accompanied with many cups of excellent coffee. Rodgers was, as always, friendly and attentive and is one of the most professional servers I have ever met, and I have been a waiter and manager and my wife and son are both restaurant managers.

Running Rabbit is well worth seeking out and you can couple the visit with visit to the Spar Tops Liquor store in the same complex, which has the biggest selection of South African (including local) wines of any shop in Hermanus, bar the towns 2 dedicated wine shops.
