We enjoyed our supper, the food was average and the waiter was good. He attended to us regularly and was friendly. It's a cool place to just chill and have a drink. Thanks.

Always friendly and made welcome. Good value for money food and drink. Dog friendly. Locals seem to like this place a lot.

We popped in for brunch on New Years Day and were pleasantly surprised, the menu caters for varying tastes and they have a good Banting selection as well. Service was good, our meal was excellent and a pleasant time was had.

When I first visited the Beach Tavern two years ago it was new and exciting. Visiting Cape Town again I was excited to go back. Sadly, nothing has changed and everything seems rather jaded. A large selection of craft beers adorns the outside wall but most of them aren't available, a smell of stale beer and cigarettes prevails, and the food - pizzas excepted - is not particularly good. This place could be exceptional; it has an amazing location; but a revamp of menus and stock, and a good clean and paint is needed.

We arrived only to wait some time to be served. The waiter provided us with menus and was quick to order our drinks but sadly that was the last we saw or heard from him. He was clearly too busy to ask if we were having anything to eat and didn't come to check how we were doing. When the drinks finally arrived a good ten to fifteen minutes later the milkshakes were just awful, most probably the worst we had ever tasted. They were not made with ice cream and strawberry sauce it tasted more like a smoothie with strawberry jam, a very rancid flavour. When we finally found one of the only three waiters serving the entire restaurant the waiter couldn't even tell us what they were made of a said he 'thought' it was made with cream and milk. Surely all waiting staff should know exactly what they are serving and what goes in to preparing meals and drinks? The service was non existent so while the prices may seem reasonable the establishment clearly does not invest in friendly staff. The premises is showing signs of degradation and is not well maintained. Will not be returning or recommending The Beach Tavern as a great place to eat! Very disappointing
