We were driving from Worchester to Port Elizabeth in a raining day (June 9, 2017) and made a quick decision to stay overnight in Outdshoorn. Because our online booking for a budget room was only a few hours before our arrival, the Riverside Lodge management was not aware of our coming. But when we arrived the location in darkness, the hostess was very welcoming and helpful, giving us a luxury room for no additional charge. The room was very nice, spacious and clean, and the bed was absolutely comfortable. We would love staying there again!

Oud's thorn is somehow a desolated town, but the staff is very accommodating, almost like being with family. The rooms are excellent and traditional, but the key is the terrace, which can be fully enjoyed with the welcome drink.

Great hosts - Sanet and Christo Pyper. We got a wonderful surprise when we checked in and were upgraded to a Tree House. This would be great for a family with two children as it has a big deck overelooking the garden and the river.
The welcome drinks with all the other new guests was a really good way to meet others and trade travel experiences. The breakfasts were plentiful and quite delicious.
As host Christo and his wife Sanet went out of their way to get dinner reservations. Christo went way beyond the call of duty by volunteering to wash our car when the local car wash was closed for the weekend. hi did e same for one of the other guests after ours.
We would happily stay there again.

Absolutely perfect - just wish we could have stayed longer than one night. Beautiful room - nicely decorated and lots of personal touches. Felt like we were staying in a castle. Friendly & helpful owners and staff. Great outdoor space for sitting and having a drink on an evening. Self service bar - just pay the tab when you leave. Great location.
