Hefty admission fees. There are too many amusement park rides and all are extra costs. Hope you can keep your children off the rides. If unable, it is a very expensive day. The Phoenix is more enjoyable. Too many animals are caged. Oh, I need to mention the jet noise from Luke Airforce Base.

We headed to this zoo on our fall break (two families w/kids ages 7-12). Our hotel was in Scottsdale so we had a long drive and didn’t arrive as early as we hoped... There are a TON of animals to see (since and rides and shows...we didn’t get to see those because we just didn’t plan well. But the kids were happy anyway. Fortunately we had a BOGO coupon because the tickets were a little expensive and all the rides cost extra. We visited the aquarium but didn’t get to see the shows. Plan for a full day. Also, we rented a wheelchair for my mom who can’t walk long distances and we were able to get around easily.

I went for the bird exhibit and keep going back to feed of the giraffes and to watch the monkeys. A little pricey, but it can be a full day's experience, plus you get to see a nice aquarium. We bring all of our out- of - town guests there at least once.

What an amazing place, even all of us Adults we loved this place , so many different types of birds I found so interesting. It must have been non tourist season because it was not busy which was nice it seemed we had the place to ourselves. We took our time and fed the Giraffes and laughed at the camel . Checked out all the reptiles . If you are ever close to this little gem I say stop in and laugh at the monkeys

I would rate this zoo higher if it were not so expensive. $40/ea for adults. Coupons on line will get you $5 off each.

You can get close to the animals and the animals are not hiding, like in most zoos. The employees seem to enjoy their jobs and are very informative.

The paths are all dirt, so don't wear sandals. As long as there are no school buses in the parking lot, you will not feel in the least crowded.
