Description: Right on the beach just outside the Park Hyatt hotel, Venus Beach Shack has offered fresh food for many years (at least six that we know of). Friendly, relaxed (slow if you're not on holiday!) service. All cooked fresh. Great selection of fish, lobster and prawns - brought round on a tray so you can select the ones you want. Also biryanis, indian style noodles, chicken tikka, pakoras etc. Really good value tasty food. Highly recommended.

Now called Marios this beach hut served us the best food we had had in a long time. First time there we had prawns in garlic butter, then red snapper in masala spices cooked in the tandoori oven. This was the best fish we had ever tasted it was so memorable and so cheap the whole meal along with 2 large bottles of kingfisher cost £30.

Out 2nd visit there we had prawns cooked in the tandoori oven as a starter followed by butter chicken, tandoori chicken, garlic rice, garlic naan and two large beers the food again was excellent and the whole meal cost £15.

We visited this shack recently while staying at the nearby Park Hyatt hotel and enjoyed a lovely meal consisting of various local specialities as well as a variety of fish and seafood. Freshly caught fish and seafood was brought to the table so that we could choose appropriately and discuss prices to avoid any unwelcome surprises on the bill.
We found the staff to be welcoming, friendly and attentive.
This shack should be considered great value for money and is, therefore, highly recommended.

Now called Mario's as mentioned in other reviews. Ate there firstly for lunch when Marion briefly introduced himself. Food was good, but not the best we had on that stretch of beach. We had intended to eat there again but having ordered an initial drink both times we didn't bother. Why? Because there is a definite pecking order in terms of the service and attention you receive. If you are young, pretty, female and Russian you are top of the list. If you are not so pretty, young etc but Russian you are somewhere below the top tier but still above the Brits (both scenarios were witnessed). As were are 60+ male Brit brothers, after the initial, brief encounter with Mario we clearly fell down the pecking order at the same rate as a sky diver exiting a Cessna and were never again visited at our table by Mario nor either of the senior waiters but by a chap who had a face like a cow licking piss off a thistle. OK at this point you are thinking I'm a bit sad going on at this length about just a bit of attention. However, as we only ate there the once I cannot judge the food to any degree but the bottom line is that it costs nothing to greet customers as the host, however briefly, even if it's just to talk about the weather (or whatever). Bottom line, I guess, is that dozens of 5 ratings can't be wrong and I'm just an attention seeker. If you're a Brit and go there see what you think.

This place is great for seafood, we had lobster and tiger prawns which were delicious. It's located on the beach as you come out of Hyatt to the left. Good value for money and no taxes! Would definitely eat here again, would recommend the masala prawns. This place is now called Marios. Enjoy....
