Very disappointed with the service in Capra restaurant. It is the guests fault that we do not know how side dishes look like - on the menu, they do not specify them, so when we ordered grilled vegetables, we actually received steamed and slightly roasted - which had completely different texture and was not up to our taste.
When we asked the waiter so switch the dishes, he did, but still charged both of them. After we pointed out his mistake, we were informed, that:
- We should've eaten less of the previous side dish, because they switch it only if you've barely touched it
- When we explained, we would've asked for it to be switched sooner, if the waiter would've come out of the kitchen, he told us that we should've found him or searched for a different waiter, because now he can't refund us.
- We were told over and over again that it is our mistake, but since we are insisting the waiter will "pay us back out of his own pocket" (3€ sidedish, but the bill was for 70€ - you can be sure we were not looking for a free meal) at which point we just decided to pay the whole price.
- Afterwards, we got in contact with the restaurant on Facebook, where we were told again that we are wrong, that apparently we ate too much of the food (and didn't care that there was no waiters around, so we could complain) and that we were offered refund - aka the 3€ out of the waiters pocket.
They informed us that they admit to their side of wrong doing - but I'm stil wondering where we were wrong.
Should we have run in the kitchen and search for the waiter? should we have not even tried the side dish and just eyeball it - if it's cooked properly or not? Should we have accepted the money from the waiter, that clearly went from his pocket?
Very disappointing experience, wishing they would've learned how to treat the guests, instead of blaming us for their poor explanations of the menu and bad receipt systems in the kitchen.
