“Very aptly called Belle Vue, though accessibility hazardous!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 June 2011

Though the hotel lived up to it's name, breathtaking views, you 'diced with death', each time you left the place! Perched on a high hillside, resembling a Tibetan Monastery, 103 steps up and down, or a long uphill drive, this hotel is definitely not suitable for the less mobile or elderly among us, and certainly not for anyone with a child in a pushchair! Which, brings me to a point made in the Hotel's description, stating that, no children under 18 would be at the hotel, however, there was a hoard of them while we were there, all ages, and one in particular little girl who squealed morning & night, also decided to bang on the piano in the dining room at 7am in the morning, our rooms being directly underneath!! One a more positive note, the rooms were good and kept very clean and the staff friendly, the food typically Turkish, which we are happy with, though the cooked food was cold whatever time you arrived in the dining room, which of course spoilt it! We agreed that the drinks prices were very expensive, e.g. 2 lira ( 4 times the cost at nearest shop) for small bottle of water! We were also apprehended for taking strawberries into the hotel, and unbelievably there wasn't any fruit at all in the hotel, very unusual for Turkey, and I do know, as I've been there 29 times!!!! All in all, although we both loved the hotel and the panoramic views, we would be hard pressed to know who to recommend it to, the main reason being it's location, on a very busy road, with no pavement and the uphill trek on the return, especially when it's hot!

Room Tip: Rooms 602, 603 & 604, are poolside

Right, let's get straight to it:

Positive:

1. Cheap
2. Great view. Best in Olu Deniz
3. Clean rooms
4. Service was good
5. Helpful staff
6. Quiet
7. Beach and lagoon is very beautiful, but can get pretty crowded. Nice swim across to the other side/

Negative:

1. Lots and lots of steps to navigate to get to the main strip. I consider myself quite fit and even I struggled. Not recommended for the overweight or elderly. However, the walk did help burn off a few extra calories that we'd piled on!
2. Room was very basic, but clean and tidy.
3. Breakfast was the same every day and did get a bit boring by day 5. We didn't eat in the restaurant in the evening so can't comment on the food.
4. You get loads of hassle from people trying to sell you trips etc when walking to the beach, so be warned!

We didn't read the reviews before we booked the holiday and we were a bit worried a day or too later after we had booked when we read a couple of negative reviews - we shouldn't have been! When we first arrived we found the staff very polite, friendly and helpful. We had a beautiful breathtaking view of Oludeniz from our room - the blue lagoon, the mountains, tree's etc. The room was very basic and quite small but very clean. The food was basic and repetitious but there was a wide variety and most of the dishes looked and tasted lovely. The food at the pool bar is really nice too and the pool is small but not too cold. The hotel is very small and quiet which was just what we were looking for. Oludeniz is a lovely and quite lively town it has many nice bars and restaurants. We would definately come back to this hotel and would recommend it to our friends.

had booked a year in advance, over booked when we arrived, put up in a lovely villa/appts, but as bed and breakfast we had not taken any food or drinking water, no facilities to buy drinks or food, 500m up steep hill from hotel, long drive to appt from road, very dark at night not lit, 96 steps from gate to lounge in apt, as i have a heart problem found this difficult, receptionist picked us up for breakfast, when we complained were given a room the following day over looking the main road which was very noisey, water very hot but leaked through shower curtain and flooded the floor, electric sockets did not work,
breakfast basic but ok, staff very friendly and room always clean, were visitinf family so only sleeping at hotel, noisey from road, and a long walk up hill from oludeniz,
lift door very close to pool edge.
lovely views, you can get on and off local buses outside the hotel, long up hill drive way from road, you need a good pair of walking shoes to walk up and down the drive.

I visited Belle Vue with my partner in July 2010. It was a pleasant stay very well looked after and had outstanding views over Olu Deniz.
We had a fantastic time. The hotel is as expected for a 3 star, the rooms are very clean as is the pool area and every part of the hotel.
The hotel is located a short walk (7 mins) from Olu Deniz beach which is one of the best I've ever experienced (short hill to climb on the way back, nothing strenuous for a normal person). A little further from the beach is the lagoon which is an essence of paradise. The lagoon is also free to Belle Vue guests.
The food is very basic, we stayed bed and breakfast, which is definitely the best option as there is a vast selection of superb restaurants in Olu Deniz and nearby Hisaronu. People who go all inclusive or full board are crazy, why would you want to eat at the same place every night. Breakfast was fresh bread, meats and cheese plus some other bits, fine for starting the day, plenty of coffee and orange juice.
For the price this hotel is well worth it, for location and the resort. If you're open minded looking to explore a great resort and want to get on and have a great holiday this hotel will be perfect. Much better to be on the hill rather than roasting in the valley with no breeze and no view.
A shame to see some negative reviews about this hotel, for the price it is well worth it you get more than what you pay for here.

I have stayed at the hotel 4 times in the last 2 years and always loved it. The faults are small, but need addressing. Food wise , it is very typical Turkish food, ample and fresh. The rooms are clean and rustic, but comfortable. Location has spectacular views across the resort and is peaceful when the resort is "buzzing". it is little things that have been over looked. Crockery with chipped cups. Tables cleared but crumbs from previous diners not brushed away.
I hope the management take this as constructive criticism, I will probably return there in the future. It is a cheap holiday for anyone who wants a nice break.

Location - Built on a hillside above a busy, winding road out of Oludeniz. Which is perfect for its views across to the mountain and down to the sea but awkward and potentially dangerous for pedestrian access to the hotel. In our experience we would conclude that the inaccessibility by foot and the amount of effort required to climb up to the hotel is rewarded by its idyllic vista. The elderly or families with children may not. Additionally, more needs to be done to improve pedestrian access and safety on the road up from Oludeniz itself in terms of a proper verge and lighting.

Service - Although we had to be transferred to a nearby hotel on our first night, the level of service during our stay was generally very good. Reception staff were attentive and helpful and even got a member of staff to fetch belongings we had forgotten in the other hotel for us, which was much appreciated. The cleaning staff were cheery and always left the room clean and tidy. The waiting and bar staff were a mixed bag, whilst the younger waiter was amiable and 'loved our banter', others were fairly sullen.

Food – Firstly, unadventurous eaters should avoid going half or full board here. Whilst there are nods to British cuisine, on the whole the menu is Turkish food. We enjoyed plenty of the dishes on the buffet and the salad bar was very good, with a large selection of salads and dips. However, breakfast was generally quite poor. If a continental style breakfast involving processed cheese and meat is not your idea of a hearty start to the day then toast and jam will suffice. Although after a few days of this we craved a full English breakfast elsewhere, which only cost 5 Lira, the amount the hotel staff were charging just for orange juice!

Rooms – the accommodation itself was light and cheerful, pretty much what you would expect for a 3 star hotel. However, our room had a balcony which gave a stunning view down to Oludeniz and the sea and exceeded expectations for a mid-priced hotel. The rooms were always left spotless by the cleaning staff and air conditioning meant that our stay was generally a comfortable one.

Facilities - Considering the scale of the hotel these were pretty good. The pool was on the small side but clean and pleasant to swim in. Drinks, snacks and ice-creams were available at the poolside bar.

Ambience – The inaccessibility by foot more or less determines that families do not generally stay at this hotel, which resulted in a more peaceful ambience. The hotel is built on cliffs above a busy road into Oludeniz, but we found that traffic noise did not generally affect us. The lack of loud music and cabaret entertainment found at the resort of Hisaronu and parts of Oludeniz was appreciated. As a couple, we enjoyed the tranquillity of the hotel however those wanting a livelier atmosphere should look elsewhere.

Conclusion – We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to couples looking for a small, peaceful, mid-priced hotel in Oludeniz with amazing views. However, whilst we enjoyed some of the food here, we would advise guests to think twice before booking half board as it may not be to everyone’s tastes. Nevertheless, still definitely worth its 3 stars.
