If you are looking for a fancy restaurant this is not the place as it remains old style. If you instead are looking for Spanish food or good fish, you will also find great service a very decent wine list and great value for the experience.
Do not hesitate to recommend it and look forward to going again.
Most of the main dishes are to share, waiters would tell you but just in case ask in advance in order to avoid asking for too much food.

This is an old fashioned restaurant specialising in steaks. The night we went there was no music, which was a blessing compared to the boom boom stuff in some. This is not a hip hop joint but a friendly family style establishment. The room was quite large and bright which dampened the atmosphere a little; so not necessarily a romantic place.
There is a large variety of steaks on the menu. The steaks themselves are huge.
A half steak is 450g and a full sized steak is 900g. I had a half steak and it was so big I could not finish it. Our steaks were wonderfully charcoal grilled, cooked perfectly and were by far the best offering I experienced in the Buenos Aires trip.
The service is excellent with an old world charm that is rarely seen today. The night we went, the restaurant was not very full so that probably helped with the service. All in all, Dora is an excellent choice for a family meal, particularly if your into steaks.

We fortuitously came across this restaurant one evening, and it was truly a fantastic experience. The service was impeccable, food was of high quality, portions were large, and there was ample selection for everyone. We would highly recommend this restaurant for all guests - family or otherwise.

Choice for dinner of a colleague so met him there with another associate. From the outside nothing special at all. Inside as well basic decor and on the night (Friday) a bit crowded. But upon being seated service was efficient and not obtrusive. Had roasted peppers as a starter, colleagues had the seafood salad. They indicated their choice as very good, mine though admittedly nothing fancy was also very good and nicely done, not overdone. I chose the swordfish steak which was excellent, probably the best I have had. Same theme, nothing flashy or fancy, just the steak along with a green salad and some paprika potatoes, but the fish was perfectly done and portion sizes just right. Will return when back next time, not to impress anyone with the decor but just for a well done simple meal with professional service.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here and the food was tasty - unlike a lot of food in Argentina. Nice seafood menu which was great as the country is beef-oriented and we don't eat beef . Ordered a half portion of the seafood stew and it was too much for 2 of us. Excellent flavour Got really excited with a side dish of sauteed spinach and potatoes with garlic - mmm, it was so good. Nice old-world atmosphere and very attentive waiters. Recommended as a place to experience BA without being overrun with tourists
