Make sure you do a walking tour of this area. The buildings are beautiful especially in the area of Alvear Avenue where there are many embassies and hotels. Eventually make your way to Recoleta Cemetery which has amazing architecture and history including the resting place of Evita.

Worth a visit just to wonder at the cost of any mausoleum within the cemetery. If you blink you'll miss Eva Peron as she's entombed in her family vault not wit the Perons

I chose to stay in Recoleta on my recent visit to Buenos Aires and was very glad that I did. There is great bus service to almost everywhere and many excellent restaurants (though I recommend avoiding the very touristy eateries that run along the side of Recoleta Cemetary!).
After hectic days of touring & the hustle and bustle of the city center, it was a joy to return to this elegant neighbourhood.

Buildings. I like them . I was alone but I was able to enjoy the city. With a bottle of water , walking around I felt it interesting.
Excellent weather. This time of the year not cold at all.

This was quite a contrast to Downtown....even the kiosks are clean and neat. The buildings are amazing and you can almost imagine what life must have been like for the rich: no wonder there was so much anger and the Perone could rally the masses! It is interesting to see the contrasts in this part of the city and wander the shaded streets.
