PROA is a private museum that brings in interesting international post-modern and contemporary artists. The curation is painfully bad at times, but the quality of the work brought in compensates. The museum also boasts a nice rooftop cafe and easy access to nearby Boca's touristy charms.

For the best experience, I'd recommend visiting PROA as soon as it opens. You'll see the exhibits without the lines and make it up to the cafe before it's too crowded or the kitchen closes.

After the museum--if it's a weekend--I'd recommend a quick jaunt out into the streets of Boca, but be advised, this is not a neighborhood I'd want to linger in after dark.

The exhibitions are always interesting. Since it's right next to Caminito, it's a great opportunity to visit whenever you're near that area. It also has a nice bar if you want to chill and read after the exhibit. When in the area do not miss the Quinquela Martín museum -full of works by this local artist that potraid the ships and port life in Buenos Aires- a few meters away for the complete experience.

This is an international class museum, located in La Boca neighborhood from Buenos Aires, near Bombonera Stadium. It has a modern and beatiful architecture. I also recommend going to the Cafe in the top floor.

Fundación PROA is a private art center which develops education and exchange programs with cultural institutions. Its focus is centered in the diffusion of the great artistic movements of century XX. It is an old building with Italianate façade and three floors that has four exhibition halls, a multimedia auditorium, a specialized library, a restaurant and terrace, as well as action spaces and opening to the public and a transparent facade to communicate experiences from the interior of the building, to the exterior, to the neighborhood.
The museological conditions -of international level- of the PROA Foundation made possible the arrival in the country of great historical exhibitions and important collections. In addition, the installation of a contemporary art center in La Boca was visionary and marked the beginning of a process to enhance the Caminito environment, which is being completed with the construction of the Paseo de la Ribera and the sanitation works of the Riachuelo river.
