it feels like you are staying in a convention hall. the clientele is mostly business and older folks. the pool is for laps. although the old building is quite nice, much of the contemporary art is appalling, particularly the giant band aids on the walls in the rooms. the breakfast service was slow, the atmosphere formal. the concierge tried to be helpful but fumbled every last task

Room Tip: if you choose to stay here, ask for the old building

I didn't pay for this place, I used points, and I am not sure I could ever justify that cost, which I have seen at US$500-1000/night. Remember though, I say I am not sure, and there aren't many places that can get me to say that instead of a flat no way.
Hard to describe all the opulence in this place, but I think the thing I remember most is the butler. The service stands out here, front desk staff very helpful, but wait staff in the restaurant slow. Breakfast was good but very pricey. Get lunch and dinner outside of the hotel.
Great location, very trendy area for shopping and cafes. Not the spot for nightlife, but easy to get around. Overall, deserving of 5 star status.

The hotel is in great location-----I walked most places. Excellent restaurants, shopping, very nice craft show in the park during the weekends. Spa & swimming pool are very relaxing. Best feature of the hotel is the outdoor restaurant with charming setting and peaceful surroundings. The art is also very nice and a great addition to the walls of a Palace hotel.

Room Tip: Least expensive room is just fine.

This hotel is worth the money. It is in a good location, the food in the restaurant is excellent and the rooms (we had a small suite) are worth the money. They could use more light in the rooms and the window, when I opened it, came off its hinge!!! But, minor details. The 3 day stay was fabulous because of the hotel. This hotel is a do not miss!

Although most bedrooms are in the new block, there is every type of bedroom, except the cheapest, in the Palacio. As such it is worth checking if you can stay there. Service in the restaurants is well intentioned, but not always reliable. Rooms are well designed. The only reason not to stay here is the price!

Room Tip: Ask to stay in the Palacio

This is a beautiful luxury hotel in the heart of the Recoleta area. The lobby was very big and the rooms were spacious and very well appointed. The bathroom had separate spaces for a tub, a shower, a commode and a sink area. They have a spa and fitness center.
The staff was most helpful and everyone spoke English. The major problem was figuring out the lighting in your room. When you arrive in your room someone takes a full 10 minutes trying to teach you how to turn the lights on and off!! You will never remember all the instructions but just use hit or miss tries to get it close to correct.
There is a huge breakfast buffet available each morning. There is an abundance of art throughout the hotel. A Spa and Fitness center are open from 7 am to 11 pm. They also have a nice wine bar.
The room rates start at $925 a night plus 10% tax and not including breakfast. American buffet breakfast is $52 and a continental breakfast is $37. A good travel agent should be able to get it for you for about $600/night including American breakfast, which is what we paid. The neighborhood is filled with high fashion shops and a 3-story mall is a block away.
The hotel concierge desk will book Tango shows or make dinner reservations for you.
There’s a Citibank branch 2 blocks away but they will charge you 4 bucks for every ATM withdrawal. Better to stand on line and exchange dollars for pesos. The mall mentioned above also has a money exchange on the lower floor, which gives a good rate for dollar exchanges. Most places accept dollars at the rate of one dollar = 4.3 pesos . Even the cabs we used took dollars.

Room Tip: The hotel is generous about lake checkout is there is availability.
