This was a strange, incongruous place. It has a five star restaurant and three star accommodation. The rooms are each individual stone cabins. Ours was one big room with a double bed, fridge and en-suite. All were fine and adequate and clean. The main issue is the high level of vegetation and water. There are many fountains and ornamental ponds in between palm trees that offer a lot of cover from the sun, but block out the light. Therefore the place is hot, damp and dark and is really a mosquito paradise. Everyone on site speaks excellent English, there is a small bar that charges over-the-top prices, there is a small swimming pool and a small Jacuzzi. To improve the experience, they should take out a lot of the vegetation, the standing water and pave over a lot of the courtyard.

Puerto Iguassu is a small, down at heel, low-rise redbrick town on the edge of Brazil and Paraguay. The pavements and roads are rough, many of the properties are half-completed and it appears to be sited on the edge of forest or jungle. If you’re familiar with Thailand or it’s islands like Koh Samui it is very similar. Hot, humid, dusty and full of vegetation – a mosquito paradise in other words.

We would recommend using taxis to get to both sides of the waterfalls. Remis taxis were good and our driver, Marcello, not only engineered the crossing of the border (four times) he bought our tickets using the Tour Guide option and managed to get us to the front of all the queues. Taxis weren’t cheap, but it was a very convenient experience and we didn’t have to endure the issues of getting a bus full of people through the very slow border crossing. Marcello, as a taxi driver, just drove to the front of every queue. The bonus of having a car waiting for you at the exit / pick-up point was worth having. Don’t forget that there is a time difference between Puerto Iguassu and the Brazilian side.

I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for only one night, but was very impressed with it and the service I received. The grounds are lush and lovely and the rooms are spacious and clean. Each room is like a separate bungalow. The breakfast is not a buffet, but made to order from a somewhat limited selection.
The staff was extremely helpful in every way. There is a hot tub and pool as well as hammocks and many places to sit outside and enjoy the ambience of the place. It does not in anyway look like a typical hotel or motel.
We ate in the restaurant for dinner because we came home too late from Iguazu falls to go anywhere else. The food and service in the restaurant were excellent as well. It was a very pleasant stay even for such a short time.

Stayed here 2 nights in total, one night whilst we visited the falls, which were magnificent and one night after staying at a fabulous ecolodge called yacutinga. Really enjoyed our stay at de la fonte- clean room, great staff, good location and a fabulous restaurant on site. Would recommend this small boutique hotel without hesitation.

This hotel is in a complex on the edge of town that includes a restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that the restaurant was one of the best ones in Puerto Iguazu. The room was a decent size and very clean. It took a few minutes to figure out how to get the water to stay hot with the electric shower. Our room had a little private patio attached to it, but we usually lounged by the pool or jacuzzi. There is an excellent breakfast included that consisted of coffee, orange juice, croissants, toast, honeydew, and many spreads. The staff was very attentive, they helped up plan out stay, recommended restaurants (and didn't steer us wrong), called taxis, and arranged for spa services.

I would recommend this place to anyone going to Puerto Iguazu.

Pleasant set up on the edge of town with sparse rooms surrounded by tropical vegetation appears to have been neglected for some time though the owner (Simona - energetic Italian owner) seems to be frantically trying to improve it. The room we had was comfortable, with a small private patio and a small refrigerator; though no safe box available in the room; bathroom toiletries need to be improved and too small of a closet. The availability of hot water was quite erratic due to electric issues in town. However the hotel deficiencies were well compensated by the charm and always willingness to help and assist by the owner and staff (our flight arrived at 11 pm due to unexpected 3 hour delay and the kitchen was open and the staff waiting for our arrival to serve dinner a la carte!).

The restaurant is eclectic, creative and with a huge dose of inventiveness. The single piece of octopus served on a bed of puree butternut squash with a scoop of white ice-cream of an undistinguished flavor was interesting. Likely, ice cream was a staple in several other main courses seen on a few tables. Unfortunately we did not have many chances to go back; it closes on Sunday (without notice).

Received email the night before saying they would arrange pickup at airport if we 'd like. Hotel out of town, but worth the drive. Staff very helpful and friendly. The restaurant was totally gourmet and the food was prepared and served like a 5 star restaurant. The room was not luxurious, but had a quaintness about it. When we arrived we were really hot and the room only had cold water in the shower. We told the staff and they came to look at it, but could not fix it right then. The breakfast was lovely, the pool was nice. The owner and the restaurant staff made this such an enjoyable experience. They arranged a guide to spend the day touring us around on our second day. The owner was great.

A frustratingly pretentious hotel that is trying to be 5* (and charge for it) but fails to get he basics right; examples
Room decor - very tired and from the 80s, broken taps, cracked shower screen, towels in room had holes in them
Restaurant - overly fussy details that spoil otherwise very good ingredients
Breakfast - the way it's presented sums up the hotel, it arrives on a huge bespoke wooden platter with carved indentations for where your stale croissant sits - i.e. a prison tray.

There are some positives, the staff do there best, especially the guys on the front desk.

I would not recommend this place to anyone.
