Very basic but good value for money charged

Pros:
Staff very nice and pleasant.
Ideal location, right at sea front and walking distance to everywhere
Breakfast was nice, coffee, tea and fruit juices. Cereals, variety of breads and croissants, ham, cheese and a variety of cakes and fruit

Cons:
No air con
No lift
No little fridge
No air dryer
No safe
Room 152 faced front of the building and noise over night was unbearable, I had ear plugs and even so the noise was really loud
Room is like a sauna and with sunrise around 5:30 was very difficult to sleep after that, it was like sleeping in a tent

We stayed in the hotel 3 nights. The location is very good in front of the beach and in the center of Puerto Madryn near restaurants and shops. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast basic but ok, our room was good with a nice view towards the beach.

We were 3 men staying 30 and 31 Jan 17.
The room and beds in #110 was small and I think would be better with less beds Our bath small too but clean. A big plus is the Manager who helped all he could with our short visit. The hotel changed ownership only two months ago and is now being renovated. Breakfast Ok. Hotel is excellent location, just cross the and park and youre on the beach

We were booked into this hotel by an organization we hadn't worked with before. And we were arriving late in the evening and needed a hotel for two nights. The room we were given was on the second floor towards the front and if this room is representative of them all... It is a shame.

We could see dirty and worn carpeting even in the poorly lighted room. And sad and depressing affair... I couldn't imagine spending any time there, never mind two nights. there appears to be no elevator service, but the manager ( who was a pleasant fellow) hauled our two large bags up the stairs himself. He was very kind to do so!

I moved us just a block or two away (also on the same street facing the beach) and found a newer, cleaner hotel for about the same price. I will review that hotel separately . My advice it to plan better and look elsewhere.

As far as location goes, prices are a bargain. The hotel is right in the centre of the city, facing the ocean and the beach. The best restaurants are minutes away by foot, as are the pharmacy, most travel agencies where you can book daytrips (which are the main reason for coming to Puerto Madryn in the first place), and the grocery store (useful for buying water and snacks for these daytrips).

That being said, this is no luxury resort. Rooms are VERY bland and in desperate need of a fresh coat of paint and new carpeting. However the bed and bathroom were very clean which, for us, was essential since, like most visitors to this city, we were never in our room except to sleep and shower. Forget sleeping in late though: the hotel is on the main downtown street which is VERY noisy. Constant car and bus noises start around 6am and slow down around midnight. I'm not sure, but I think all or most rooms face this street because of the "sea view" attraction (however this view would be better if the trees lining the street weren't so large...). As for breakfast, it is not included in the price. There is a restaurant in the lobby and breakfast there is not too expensive.

We paid 190 Argentinian pesos for a double room. From what I've seen and heard, most hotels in this price range are pretty much the same, i.e. basic and bland. Don't be surprised though. The city's economy relies very much on the tourist industry. Even the simplest hotels are more expensive than anywhere else in Argentina (except maybe El Calafate). We were there at the start of the high season and hotels fill up very quickly so you can't be too picky in this town...
