Place is very clean, bed is excellent (i like firm mattresses); croissants, scrambled eggs, and fruit preserve crepe were superb (i had just come out of a much fancier hotel in mar del plata, and i enjoyed breakfast better at la posta). Personnel are friendly and very helpful. There was one glitch, wifi was not working on second floor, but they promptly identified the problem and replaced the repeater (wifi/internet worked fine closer to the reception area).

A great little family run hotel. Upon entering the door of this establishment we were treated as if royalty had arrived. Maybe as a family member whose visits were too far in between. This littlehaven sits within steps of Lago Lacar. A beautiful crystal clear lake on the edges of the downtown area. The accomodations are a little tight as in small but that is made up for by a genuine hospitality that is unsurpassed. The included breakfast is wonderfull. The charm of this monastery like establishment is plentiful.

Room Tip: Try the second floor but all rooms are the same.

The Austrian-style baronial reception hall is a bit dark and over-ornate but you'll receive a warm welcome from the charming and helpful staff. Room 110 was reasonably-sized and had a view across the lake but the furnishings were all a bit tired. A good breakfast was served at table with eggs cooked to order. The hotel is conveniently situated, close to the bus terminal, the main street and the lakefront. Very good value for a popular resort.

Room Tip: Ask for a lake view

This is a family owned and operated bed-and-breakfast type of place. We booked a room just the night before and when we arrived, we were greeted by name - they were clearly expecting us. The owner came out and carried our bags himself. He was courteous and friendly. The place and the room were clean. It is two blocks away from the one of the (beautiful) Seven Lakes, and two blocks away from the main road (within walking distance to many a restaurants and gift shops). Breakfast was prepared the next morning and was plentiful for us (toast, egg, coffee, croissants, etc). WiFi is available in the lobby and in the breakfast area (the signal did not reach the upstairs room we were in).

We would DEFINITELY RETURN and HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place. Honesty and good service was their aim without a doubt. The rate was extremely competitive and the owner insisted that we pay at the exchange rate most competitive to us and not to them.

If your are looking for honesty, a good, friendly place to rest and enjoy San Martin de Los Andes, then this is it.

Room Tip: For WiFi in the room, ask for a first floor room. Upstairs rooms did not get the WiFi signal.

After meandering up and down mountain road for hours we arrive into San Martin de los Andes on a Sunday to find the town celebrating an annual festival. Town was bustling with people and activities. The four of us were very excited until we arrived to find our reservations had been for the day before. There was no vacancy In town but the manager in La Posata de lo Cazador could not have been more helpful and understanding and offered a cabin in the back of the hotel for us. The cabin was very rustic but did have a bathroom, a bedroom and kitchenette with 2 beds. The four of us could not be more thankful to find a place to sleep for the night. The management in this establishment could not be more accommodating. The hotel has a bar that serves mixed drinks and canned beer but no wine. It is in walking distance to lake and down town. There is parking for guest. Good breakfast with choice of pancakes or eggs. Comfortable but very primitive.
