The staff was very friendly and helpful and the view of the lake is ubelievable. The place seems to have been refurbished recently, so that's a plus. I stayed in a 4 bunk-bed room, which was small, but the bathroom was good, old looking, but good. Breakfast and dinner OK, but the fact that the hostel offers both meals is already great.

This was a very clean hostel with beautiful views. Very good if you prefer relaxing hostels rather than "party" hostels. Also has a free dinner at it's sister hostel down the road which was great.

This hostel is very stiff. The staff are unhelpful (only met one in two nights of staying there that was friendly at all) and in general are even difficult to help with tours or other recommendations.

We reserved a double room (180 pesos!) only to get two twin beds in a HOLE without windows or light. It was so small and claustrophobic we changed to a dorm room (weren't willing to pay 220 pesos for a room with a window). The dorm room was fairly comfortable, although the shower was small. I also stayed at the HI Tango Inn. If you want a private room, definitely go to the Tango Inn. If you are wanting a dorm room, I would recommend this hostel (see my other review on Tango Inn).

The dinner at the neighboring Marco Polo hostel was very good. The internet service was good (3 computers). Breakfast was bread and cereal, very simple. Lots of stairs in this hostel!

The Hostel Inn is a nice place to stay, a typical hostel, nothing very, very special compared to the other hostels in Bariloche, except for the great view over the lake from the terrace!! The staff is friendly and helpful but quite impersonal, the (bath-) rooms are very ok and clean, there are three computers where you can use the internet for free. Breakfast is included, and the (simple but really tasty) dinner as well (which is served in their partner hostel Marcopolo Inn just next to it).

I stayed here over my mid-semester break (for part of it, anyway). When I am considering where to stay, I always need to know whether or not free breakfast is provided. I will never stay anywhere without it. This had REAL food for breakfast (for free); I would leave feeling full, which was a nice feeling. They even put it out over half an hour early, so you don't have to wait if you have an early excursion, and there is someone to do the dishes for you (which, to be honest, was a little awkward, but she was really nice and enjoyable to talk to). When I say breakfast, I mean breakfast. They had cereal (corn flakes, as is the Argentine custom), lots of fresh bread that you could have toasted with available sides, coffee, warm water for mate and tea, warm milk for hot chocolate. The only thing missing was fruit, but compared to all the other hostels I've stayed at, this breakfast was delicious. To make things even better, dinner was free too! You just have to walk about five minutes over to Marcopolo Inn (another part of the same chain) after getting your voucher from Hostel Inn. The dinner was much better than expected. The first day, we had cous cous (however you spell that) covered in salsa. The second day, we had paella but with chicken and not fish. For both, the only utensil given is a spoon. The second night's dish was so good that I was wishing for seconds! You also are given unlimited bread. MMM!

Off of the food topic, there is an EXCELLENT view (the dining room has large windows which you can look out while eating) of the lake and mountains. The staff is kind of impersonal. They'll help you without complaint, but you can tell it's just part of the job. It's very clean, so no worries about that. One bad thing is that, accompanied by the view, to get to the hostel, you have to climb up a steep hill (annoying to do after a day of hiking), followed by a set of stairs to get to the lower level of rooms, followed by another set of stairs to get to the "lobby" and dining room, followed by yet another set of stairs to get to the upper level of rooms (where I stayed). By the end of it all, my knees were in a lot of pain. If you are old or have bad knees, be wary. I still think it's worth the stay, though, because you get two free meals that are delicious.
