What an amazing sight the Perito Moreno glacier is. The sight is well managed when the crowds are not too high. I was there on a Sunday and Monday and Sunday was very crowded and I would suggest avoiding weekends. Monday was brilliant allowing the excellent viewing platforms to be enjoyed watching great chunks of ice fall into the lake. A unique experience.

Wow this was amazing!! In addition, it was so easy to get to! We just flew into El Calafate from BA and stayed at a really nice hotel in town. Booked the glacier trek tour the day before we planned on visiting the Perito Moreno glacier which was no issues at all. I could sit there for hours and hours watching the ice calve off into the water as it was simply mesmerizing. We packed lunch but could have easily bought it there as there was a pretty comprehensive shop/mini market there. Definitely recommend doing the glacier hike, the blue colors and the scenery was something i'd never seen before and I was hooked. We were lucky enough to be able to visit an ice cave at the end of the hike which was just crazy, apparently not there at all times of the year. This was just a stunning trip, really unforgettable!

Drive till the cafe on top. Then Take the first/permier ciruit. Walk down from the right and climb up from the left so that you don't feel the climbm the views from the balconies are stunning. Look out for some local flowers too.

Unlike the park in Chile, the park in Argentina is paved. That makes the drive out to the glacier tour very easy. Only real downside is the daily park fee......
